    I don't think that Natalia Veselnitskaya was a pawn.

    I think she, and Putin's men that sent her, knew exactly what they were doing.

    Remember that Veselnitskaya travels in the circle of Russian oligarchs and real estate types 'that surround Putin. Rember that Goldstone does too (albeit on the fringe). Remember the Russian oligarchs looking to launder money have been the chief source of financing for Trump ventures for a long time.

    Remember also that Veselnitskaya was the defending attorney in a money laundering case against a member of the Katsyv family brought by Phreet Bararra. Remember that Trump tried to personally contact Barerra just before he abruptly fired him (even though he had been assured by Bannon and Kushner that he would be retained). That case was quickly settled.

    They knew who Trump was, and all of his weaknesses. Putin is a man for whom corruption comes naturally. And he knows how to co opt arrogant fools like Trump.

    Vesalnitskaya's job was the deliver the message (and set the drag).

    I think the fact that they see nothing wrong with this meeting is a major red flag. If they believe such a meeting to be something that is a routine and acceptable practice, then it is not unlikely for them to have arranged several other meetings just like the one that Trump Jr made.

    When Putin's KGB attacked our democracy by creating a bogus dossier to destroy a Presidential candidate, I cared. When the DNC paid an intermediary to gather the unsubstantiated garbage from the KGB, I cared. When the former President and his FBI Director showed the product of DNC-KGB collusion to TRump to make the unsubstantiated rubbish reportable news in an attempt to destroy the Trump Administration before Inauguration Day, I cared. Did you?

    Well, he was an easy mark. Seriously, I'm sure Trump Sr is saying to himself--I should have let Ivanka take over the company, not my idiot son.

    What Don Jr wanted to do was unethical but legal, IMHO. That said, he was too stupid to see that it was a setup. The Russian lawyer worked with a Dem oppo research firm.

    I don't believe they feel such a meeting is routine and acceptable, I believe they thought they wouldn't get caught.
    I'm sure there were other meetings.

    I think the Trumps have tarnished their brand name more then all the people they sued for tarnishing their brand name put together
