California conservatives, tired of state's liberal politics, find friendlier abodes in Texas

    Man, you nailed it.

When I first got to California in 1991 I bought a new house from the builder in an association in Moreno Valley. That city is the epitome of ghetto creep and the association lost control of keeping people in line with maintaining their property and it turned into a slum. After the second time my broken into we got the hell out and moved to Corona.

Anyway, when we bought that Mo Val house it was in the middle of a drought and we were told to ration water. I guess everyone rationed really well because the water district had to increase the price of water because they weren't making enough money to operate. When the drought ended do you think they reduced the price back to the original amount? Nope.

The last year in I was in CA the registration for my Tacoma was $365 per year. When I moved to Texas it dropped to $58 and I think that was for two years. When CA can't raise taxes they raise fees.

When CA launched their program to give out tickets for using a cell phone while driving the fine was $50, but they added so many fees into it that the final cost was over $300. I received a cell phone ticket in Texas and the cop said it was $25. I asked him how much it really was and he said $25 and he was right, that was all I paid.

Between the taxes, the traffic, the rules and regulations, the illegals, and the overall progressive ideology, my wife and I were glad to get out and we never looked back.

Actually, no that is not true. Kids going to Fountain Valley, HS - Next to Huntington Beach have NO DRUG ISSUES. The difference is that Fountain Valley did not allow the Low Income Housing high rises in. They refused the Federal funds tied with them.

Apes didn't have religion did they? Don't reduce this to such specious nonsense.

The poster is from England. English ancestors of his were Pagan, undeniable fact.

You are focusing on the issues that are important to you which is fine, I hope you can just try to put yourself in a fiscally conservative or highly religious person would feel.

Gay rights aside, the taxes and general ideology of the politicians here have gone even further to the Left. Some of the people I know that voted Trump and had stickers on their cars had them vandalized, 2 specifically.

They simply left because they most likely have different morals than what are in CA. Fine, actually should be better for both parties I would think. I do however find it ridiculous and a huge problem that you immediately call them homophones and racists just because they may disagree with you

Same thing happened to my Father in Law in Canoga Park, Los Angeles. Used to be a nice quiet place where birds chirped and now it pit bulls barking, gun fire and the birds are all police choppers.

I have lived in CA all my life. If I didn't have such deep roots here, I would leave as well. In addition to one of the highest state income taxes, property taxes, the new gas tax on top of the old gas tax, and close to 10% sales tax, I have to pay a city income tax as well.

I wish I could look around the city and see where all that money goes. I don't see it.

LA school district is among the worst, roads are falling apart, water system is 100+ years old, beaches are dirty and polluted, violent crime is up, and our second amendment rights have been all but destroyed.

This is an example of what you can look forward to when liberals are given power.

Irrelevant. Current god is a bronze age war god of sacrifice and nonsense, not much separated from previous creation myths.

Small world, I'm in Moreno Valley today. What a dive! Corona is still pretty nice, crowded and expensive, but nice.

According to you, everyone was pagan at one time, except yours, which were trolls, because it sounds like you come from a long line of trolls.

Yes it sounds a lot like Chicago. The bombed out streets of Baghdad are in better shape. Where does all that money go?

So what ancestry and culture exactly is it you would like to return to? Since I noticed you avoided my post previously.... What do you think is the answer to overcoming your "overall useless and hollow feeling of living in a country that none of us identify with" and feeling "disconnected from our ancestry" (those are both quotes from you)? You bitterly resist Christianity, so what is it you support? What do you see as an answer?

"Expressing religious belief that infringes on the rights of others is in and of itself unconstitutional."

    Killing infidels?

Sorry to butt in, but religion is declining here in the US. More and more kids are growing out of the false beliefs they were indoctrinated into. Things like Santa Claus and a burning bush that can talk may seem reasonable to a child, but a mature mind will reject such nonsense.

BTW, my horse has very short legs!

My life is fantastic. Mainly because I'm a Christian who lives in Texas lol.

You sound miserable to me. Angry and miserable.
You should ignore Christians the way I ignore atheists when they try to tell me what to believe and how to live.

Not Christianity. Not Islam. Not Judaism. Not faiths that proselytize and publicly preach. Personal spiritual choices. Not bought and sold quackery by televangelists. My ancestors were pagans. Not Christians

It was never a Christian nation. Ever. You have no evidence to support that fictitious baloney claim.
