    Even the Russians knew enough to give up after nine years. We are there for SIXTEEN YEARS already and now it appears that we will be there forever. Nothing will turn it around.

    We had a company ROE that if they threw 1 grenade at us, we throw back 2. I was a dismounted infantry team leader. Our AO was Haifa st Baghdad.
    And our CO called the Apache that killed the journalist. It was an accident of course. We had a BFV on fire from a VBED being overrun by locals. He wanted it destroyed and the journalist was standing there.
    That was a helluva a year. I lost one of my best friends to a sniper and 2 other close friends.

    It's always a kind of sickly amusing joke how people simply accept being lied to constantly when politicos campaign and then being lied to in entirely different ways about different things once the first lies have done their job and propelled the candidate into power.

    "That's just how it is" being the most usual response.

    And then some folks start talking about tradition and before we know it another statue of a bald-faced liar shows up.

    14% of Indian population is Muslim. It has grown in percentage given Muslims tend to breed like rabbits.

    You have NO clue of the history between Islam and India, do you? Or the tension between Hindus and Muslims in India to this day.

    Trump's statement about India may have been meant actually to motivate Pakistan. If Pakistan flakes out then we might align with India. Pakistan was India until the British divided up the country - resulting in mass slaughter as the two population groups passed thru each other - Muslims to the two (then) Pakistans and Hindus to what is now India.

    Exorbitantly stupid statement. The "intelligence community" is in control now as always - and as the Democrat and Republican neocons agree to submit to as well. Doesn't matter what politicians or voters want or think. It only matters what the intelligence community and military industries want. They control foreign military policy.

    So what? Do you think we will stay there for the next 10,000 years? We have to leave at some point and when we do, tomorrow or 500 years from now, the bad boys will go on a rampage. The only reason we are there is to ensure that the opium continues to flow. So once the CIA crooks work out a deal to keep it coming we will leave. No one really gives a damn about the terrorists. Our crooks just want the opium.
