Inner-city blacks are rejecting calls from a Chicago Pastor to tear down the George Washington Monument and change the name of Washington Park, and one community organizer says the attacks against our nation’s historical monuments are an attempt to manufacture a race war that won’t help anyone in the black community.

Following the fallout of the Charlottesville riots over the removal of the Democrat Confederate General Robert E. Lee monument, a Chicago Pastor is now calling to change the name of Washington Park and remove a monument to our nation’s first president, George Washington.

Chicago community organizer, Paul McKinley, invited my co-producer, Andrew Marcus, and myself; on a tour of the south side neighborhood surrounding Washington Park and the statue to hear from him and other residents their feelings on the media manufactured debate to erase our nation’s history.

McKinley, along with area residents we encountered during our shoot do not agree with Pastor Bishop James Dukes, and say George Washington should be left alone.

In our new short film, Smashing Statues: The Race War Hoax, released exclusively on Breitbart.com, McKinley explains, the whole Charlottesville debacle was a “bait and switch,” designed by democrat and communist revolutionary forces to distract the people from what is really going on in the community.

McKinley says, “while they’re taking about changing the name, our community needs jobs, contracts, and opportunity. This is a way to stop talking about black folks not working. Black folks get no contracts. Our schools are being closed down. Our houses are being boarded up. But you want to talk about a statue.”

 

Bravo to Paul McKinley and more power to him. Why doesn't Rahm and Pastor Dukes raise funds to plant grass, grow flowers, and provide the neighborhood with a dignified respite, and a few caretaker jobs? Why aren't they funding development? All they can think of is gun control and tearing down statues. And how does Dukes get to keep his job with a name like that?

It's amazing that some people are so in love with statues of mass murderers and tyrants who spent their entire lives oppressing people. Where are the statues of people who did good things for humanity, like the people who invented the polio vaccine and made other major medical and technical advances? Instead the country is littered with statues of genocidal mass murderers and slavers.

 

I happen to love good art - which is almost extinct. I think at some subconscious level it elevates us to better civility. I do not think most people who walk past statues, who walked past that courthouse, even knew who the statue was representing. I challenge you to turn up one personality who says, "that statue there is of my favorite general and reminds me every day of how fun it is to be racist".
I do, however, think there may be some people who really hate them in the same way Jews would react to a statue of Hitler or a New Yorker would react to a statue of Bin Ladin. So, whatever a community wants to do with its statues is their business. THEIR BUSINESS - not some ***** vandals from another state. There is a lawful way to deal with it, and this is not it.

If you've been following, I was the first to say we should have a wonderful statue of Booker T Washington, George Washington Carver, Frederick Douglass or Rosa Parks installed in front of all 50 buildings named after Robert Byrd, and all along the Robert Byrd Highway.

 

I'm glad we're all getting with the program here!
