But to people who have absolutely no knowledge of history, Hitler is.... Hitler.

They really don't know anything about history, but they do know that Hitler was bad. That's all they know, and to them, that's obviously more than enough.

Maybe - but Hitler also owns the 80 million war dead, countless displaced and the decimation of his own country and those around it ... not really much to put in the "good" column.

Did you... did you just compare WW2 veterans with antifa?!? Words can not express the disgust I feel right now.

I'm sure SB, a long time resident of the DRC is all to familiar with type of activity! The DNC is hardly an example of human rights adult or otherwise! How someone from that type environment can smugly preach morality to the folks residing in the U.S. is beyond comprehension!

No one was making him put to be good. Just saying that Hitler wasn't nearly the devil that someone like Mao, Stalin, or Polpot were.

But at least those three crazies kept it in house (in their own countries) Hitler went world-wide, so we're talking numbers vs. geographic area. I'd say they were all pieces of s**t and leave it at that.

I blame the media for dividing us.

THE MEDIA WILL NOT DIVIDE US!

You were divided from the rest of humanity when you decided to strap on the white supremacist pointy hat. Nobody to blame but yourself on that one.

OK, I hate white supremists just as I hate any supremist group. But they have the right to speak their mind as do Black lives matter and other racially guided groups. I don't like the fact that Congress has segregated groups, like the black congressional caucus or Hispanic caucus or caucases on the right. They were elected to represent all citizens in their districts. To do I otherwise is wrong. We need a third party that represents all citizens interests using commonsense. I my self am a moderate and Centrist for the most part. In some ways I think Trump is also. He doesnt follow party lines but does what he thinks is best.

Equating support of the First Amendment of the Constitution with support of what is being said by those availing themselves of having that right? Absurd in the extreme. A good many people like your father and uncle have fought and died in support of giving Americans with whom they disagree the right to speak their mind. That right applies to everyone, even those with whom you or I vehemently disagree.

Yeah, I too am beginning to think it's paranoid slander.

Yes, and that's not just our opinion, it is the opinion of the High Court, as shown in a couple of recent decisions.

Matal v. Tam, in which the court ruled that the government can't pick and choose which trademarks it registers based on whether they offend certain people or groups.

Packingham v. North Carolina, in which the court struck down a North Carolina law that prohibited registered sex offenders from visiting social-networking websites that allow minors to become members.

The justices have constantly reaffirmed protection of vile, offensive ideas and individuals.

Yes. I don't understand why this is so difficult for some to acknowledge.

Agreed. Trying to equate those who fought against Nazi Germany in WWII with today's Antifa thugs is ludicrous.

Excellent post. Hopefully that clears things up for folks...

I'm old school and believe in the adage of "I may disagree with what you say, but I'll defend your right to say it" When we start stopping certain groups from speaking or expressing their views, even NAZI's etc. that leads down the path to stopping others. Antifa could be the next group to be banned from speaking expressing their views just as easily as the NAZI's.

Exactly, Trump doesn't care one iota about the Republican Party. He made war on them during the primaries and is making war on Republican congressional leaders today. I agree, Trump does what is best for Trump.

Now the same liberals who claim illegal immigrants are entitled to, and protected by, provisions of the US Constitution, are claiming US citizens aren't? :confuse: I'll point out the hypocrisy ... but no need to call attention to the glaring stupidity of that preposition.

When you start a second World War with the intent on having a "master race" rule and end with the deaths of between 40-85 million people, being called a devil is the nicest thing that can be said.

I simply point out that the ACLU doesn't agree with you. Your standard was "dangerous". That seems pretty arbitrary as a standard. By your standard, those railing against gay marriage would be right because you would agree with their assessment of that institution being dangerous. I would also caution, that the policy of the national socialists was almost to the letter the policy of Bernie Sanders. And while he wasn't actively looking for scapegoats Hillary certainly was.

There have been many episodes in history when folks used your standard as a cudgel which they crushed dissent or rebellions, or those working to free themselves from slavery. And while I appreciate your sensitivity you believe you're expressing, I point out that what you've actually articulated is as tyrannical as any I've heard.

So you father was a communist? For if he was antifa, as we know antifa, he was a communist. I think you need to understand a bit more about antifa before you start insulting your father.

I have not seen any defense of Nazis here. I have seen people defending the first amendment against those fascists who only want their own speech protected. Remember, it is not the speech you agree with which must be protected but the speech that chaffs your arse.

We seem to have to remind every generation of this. I guess education is so bad today that the new generations are so poorly educated, as to be dangerous to our constitution.

40-85 million deaths is on par with the Chinese communists. And they think they are a master race also.
