Is this the next thing after the monuments? Would the military allow the bases ti be dismantled. Is political correctness just getting out of hand?

The Southern Poverty Law Center has declared three of America’s largest Army bases Confederate monuments “with the potential to unleash more turmoil and bloodshed” if activists don’t “take down” the Army bases.

The SPLC included Fort Hood in Texas, Fort Bragg in North Carolina and Fort Benning in Georgia on a list of 1,500 “Confederate monuments” that the SPLC claims could inspire more violence like what happened in Charlottesville, Virginia last month. All three bases are named after Confederate military leaders.

The list makes no mention of renaming namesakes of Confederate monuments; taking the monuments down is presented as the only option. The recent leftist campaign against Confederate namesakes and monuments has included a willingness among some far-left actors to destroy government property to accomplish their goals. “More than 1,500 Confederate monuments stand in communities like Charlottesville with the potential to unleash more turmoil and bloodshed,” the SPLC website states. “It’s time to take them down.”

Elementary and middle schools, local streets and even entire towns are included on the SPLC’s list of “Confederate monuments.”

The SPLC is urging leftists around the country to flood their local newspapers with letters to the editor urging the removal of the monuments, although the group’s campaign against the army bases could serve as a dogwhistle for left-wing militants willing to take extreme measures to take down Confederate monuments.

The SPLC’s map of “Confederate monuments” resembles the group’s “hate map” that has repeatedly smeared conservative organizations as “hate groups” and inspired domestic terrorist Floyd Lee Corkins II to shoot up the Family Research Center in 2012.

At the same time that the SPLC is waging its campaign against Fort Hood, approximately 400 American soldiers stationed at the base are down in Houston helping victims of Hurricane Harvey. (RELATED: Left-Wing Agitators Call For Escalated Tactics In Response To Charlottesville)

I bet the Army takes down the SPLC first.

How about the SPLC get's lost instead. Those Army bases are worthy of respect, the SPLC with this statement is not worthy of being valued in the slightest and should be added to the "hate group" list for having such distain for those that serve in our Army bases.

The SPLC certainly isn't a "hate group," but it risks further damaging its credibility with proclamations such as this.

Does anyone know where they stand on the Jefferson Memorial?

That monument is the Dred Scott test of how far the movement to hide/destroy our sometimes shameful history will go.

What about the millions of dollars they stashed in Caymen Island accounts? That alone should cancel their tax exempt status.

SPLC and credibility shouldn't be in the same sentence.

It is a hate group as it deliberately generates racial hatred and conflict.

SPLC needs to be investigated. They have millions stashed in the Caymans. Why?

It's a lie. If you follow the link in the Daily Caller article, you can very quickly find that SPLC is only talking about renaming the bases (as any unbiased rational person would have guessed anyway).

It’s still a bit of a silly campaign that SPLC is taking too far and doing what credibility they might have had no favours. That doesn’t make the Daily Caller any better though and their choice to publish a blatant lie when reasonable arguments against the truth could be made does what credibility they might have had no favours either. It seems you’re all as bad as each other really.

Id say it's time we start investigating the finances of the SPLC, and ask why they feel the need to move their money off shore. Their proclamations are sounding more and more like just another political action committee that leans heavily to the left. Perhaps it's time to revoke their non profit status (as they seem to be profiting quite nicely).

Because if they just gave the money over to Israel people in the West might start seeing how tribal that group operates.

I can't wait to see antifa or similar group storm one of those forts with the intent of causing great damage. Not a one will get past the machine gun nest 30 yards beyond the gatehouse.

Washington DC needs renamed as Washington was a slave-holding rapist.

Maybe it could be named after Booker T.?
