A study by the University of Wisconsin showed voter suppression, that many people of color were unable to vote due to the states stringent voter ID laws (Trump only won that state by a margin of 22,000 votes btw).

Last year, the election was historic in the sense it lacked the protections of the Voting Rights Act, a abnormality that hasn’t been seen in decades. What does it tell us? Voter suppression is very well alive and unwell. There is a reason it is called Voting RIGHTS and not Voting PRIVILEGES. Because voting does not apply to only certain classes of people of the size of their income.

Poor, even poverty-stricken individuals who cannot afford the fees for a govt issued ID have a right to participate in national elections. it’s what makes this country—wait for it, great.

The segregationists are on the move. We cannot let these monsters roam free, while we pretend to be mortified by voter fraud .

Liberals: "there aren't any differences between the races as far as intelligence is concerned."

Also liberals: "minorities are too dumb to get an i.d."

I’m guessing you didn’t read the part about people not being able to afford all the fees just to vote.

How can you not afford a free ID?

Does it matter? Why should anyone have to pay to vote?

In my state an i.d. is like $18. EVERY American has $18 unless they're just too dumb to figure out how to get such a small amount of money.

There are other costs and travel involved if they need to get other documents before getting the official ID. The entire process to get one is enough to turn people away. There’s no point in setting up these barriers, it just discourages turnout.

But to not already have an i.d. when you're a grown adult just means the person is mentally challenged. There's no reason people should be encouraging the mentally handicapped to vote.

Obviously they have the right to vote but if they seriously can't figure it out on their own helping them would be bad for democracy.

    It's free.

    It's.

    Free.

    Understand?

Tell us how voter ID laws suppress voting, since everyone needs an ID to do almost anything in todays society.

Be specific, and maybe produce someone that said they were blocked from voting and tell us why.
