Repaying the money is secondary in my eyes. The fraud and abuse of public trust is the real problem. The DOJ should be investigating this, and every member of Congress that has used public monies to cover their misconduct should be arrested and prosecuted...

So now you want to move the goal posts to fraud? That still don't change up the fact that most of those I know. Wont pay out money if they aren't guilty of something.

Which living in Chicago around a lot of your kind. Doesn't even count those that wont pay anything even if they are guilty of something.

Many liberals including here have said they believe Conyers is guilty in other threads so I don't understand why those same are defending him too.

I don't see why they wouldn't considering the meme of Conservatives "War on Women".

Conyers is guilty of over staying his time in congress doing nothing for 50 years. Trump has worked his ass off every day since he was elected. If they are both equally guilty of being womanizers, at least Trump pays his own way.

    Creeps!

The racist Clyburn offered this White Devils Lie defense of him:

    [IMG]Robert Draper

    ✔@DraperRobert

Also at this morning's House Democratic caucus: James Clyburn compared Conyers' accusers to the child murderer Susan Smith, who initially claimed a black man had abducted her kids. Clyburn said, these are all white women who've made these charges against Conyers.

    1:36 PM - Nov 29, 2017

Incidentally, it turned out that Conyers' chief accuser was not a White Devil Woman but a black woman. Interesting that Clyburn went right to the "it's all a white devil con" defense, though.

But we're not done with the White Devil card just yet -- Conyers' attorney is also playing it, kinda. He wants to know what the difference between Conyers and the White Devil Al Franken.

    [IMG]Juana Summers Markland

Rep. Conyers attorney to me just now re: Pelosi: Pelosi has to
"explain what the discernible difference between Congressman Conyers and Sen. Al Franken is." Says Pelosi isn't the determining factor for Conyers.

    8:43 AM - Nov 30, 2017

It's interesting that Clyburn keeps going to the same White Devil well, isn't it?

Catch me up -- racism is supposedly a bad thing, right? I guess that rule isn't as firm as I had been previously been led to believe.

Possibly because he had offered multiple racist defenses in a row -- one of which turning out to be a misplaced racist defense, as Conyers' chief accuser is black -- Clyburn went into Save Your Own Ass mode and called on Conyers to resign.

Maybe it's just that it turned out at least one of the women accusing Conyers wasn't white and therefore not necessarily a White Devil Liar.

Believe all women... unless they're white.

Racism is bad, right? I keep getting confused because "icons" keep saying some really ignorant racist hillbilly **** and they get a complete pass for it.

Conyers has now checked into the hospital with crybabyitis and a bad case of Sympathy Seeking and apparently it's all the White Devils fault for this "media assault."

Well, he's a black man, so, like Bill Cosby, looks like its the underside of the bus! Franken though, looks like he will survie it.

Dem Senator Hirono Runs Interference for Franken and Conyers.

Democratic Rep Suggests that Members of Congress Are Above Ordinary Sexual Conduct Rules.

Congress over the years has made itself a privileged class. A quip from Rep. James Clyburn, Democrat from South Carolina, says it all. When asked why, unlike Harvey Weinstein, Matt Lauer, Bill O’Reilly, and Charlie Rose, Rep. John Conyers, the scourge of the elevator, is keeping his job, Clyburn instantly replied, “Who elected them?”

    Got that?

Members of Congress are a protected class, insulated from the consequences of their deeds. There is even secret fund, paid for by us taxpayers, to defray the cost of settlements when our public servants (ha ha) step out of line and harass someone. Our elected officials vote in ObamaCare but are made exempt from having to rely upon ObamaCare themselves.

Many Americans aren’t aware of the extent to which Congress has set itself up as a quasi-nobility (without being noble). Voters probably think their elected representatives are struggling with increasing ObamaCare premiums just as they are. Joke’s on us, my fellow taxpayers.

    I’m not laughing.

Who's in charge again? Please explain why McConnell and Ryan know nothing about this fund. Talk about a coverup.
