White women in Alabama have made up their minds about Roy Moore

A recent Washington Post poll shows that nearly 6 in 10 white women in Alabama are likely to vote for Roy Moore, the Republican Senate candidate facing allegations of sexually assaulting multiple teenage girls when he was in his 30s.

After the 2016 presidential election, women on the left called out the 53 percent of white women who helped elect Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton, the first female nominee of a major political party. Trump also faced more than a dozen allegations of sexual assault during his campaign.

Last spring, actress Tina Fey warned white, college-educated women who had supported Trump that their votes would have negative consequences for them.

“A lot of this election was turned by white, college-educated women who now would like to forget about this election and go back to watching HGTV,” Fey said during an April Facebook Live fundraiser for the American Civil Liberties Union. “You can’t look away because it doesn’t affect you this minute, but it’s going to affect you eventually.”

Roy Moore accuser alters story on yearbook signing, to hold press conference

Beverly Young Nelson, the former Gadsden waitress who presented her high school yearbook she said was signed by Roy Moore, altered the story she originally told regarding the yearbook signature.

In an interview Friday with ABC's Good Morning America, Nelson said she made some notes in the yearbook below where Moore signed it. Underneath Moore's alleged signature is a date and location that Nelson said Moore signed the yearbook - "12-22-77" and on the next line "Olde Hickory House," the restaurant where Nelson worked and she said Moore was a frequent customer.

Nelson will hold a press conference Friday afternoon in Atlanta. According to a press release from the office of her attorney, Gloria Allred, expert evidence that Moore signed the yearbook will be presented.

Moore, the Alabama Senate Republican nominee, has repeatedly denied knowing Nelson or signing her yearbook or attempted to sexually assault her as she has claimed.

Up to the 70's and early 80's it was not uncommon for 16 year-olds "in fly over countryt" to date older guys and get married the summer after graduating from high school after dating for at least two years.
If Roy Moore's behavior was ‘predatory’ as many are claiming today, rather than casual or unobtrusive, there probably would have been more evidence along the lines of police reports and complaints from the time. However, I can only speak in social norms of my times, it seems to me that if this was his behavior, someone should have probably set him straight, for example, “hey, maybe someone a little closer to your age, maybe?” Even if the motives were not selfish or aggressive, it’s still not a good look in "Today’s" optics.
Take for example Judge Moore's wife who is 14 years younger than he. They've been married now for more than 32 years. My ex-wife married a man thirteen years her junior, does that make her equal to Judge Moore?

 

Obviously there's more going on to it than we know. Why go through the trouble forging a yearbook signature? It says scam all over it
