I agree. He needs a long time out. Death or life sentence though? No. But 5-10 years of thinking about being a dumbass would do him good.

Donnie says there were good people on both sides in Charlottesville. I'm pretty sure this dirtbag wasn't one of them.

No the irony rests with the fact the protest was about tearing down memorials and monuments.

    Irreverence begets irreverence.

    I think he'd be looking at 5 to 40 for 2nd degree.

it's a sensical and simple comment if you're capable of reading pretty common forms of abbreviation. i've a habit of cutting out joining words but other than that i don't see anything terribly unreadable about what i had to say. my point was that your description implicitly accusing me of terrorism more accurately describes the system i want to end than any part of the political programmes i've associated with.

The problem with stretching the charge is that if they cant prove it, he could possibly walk.

Not good, didn't she die by Heart Failure? Murder in the first is not going to be proven, should have gone for manslaughter, or murder in the 2nd.

Yes, they could have put every cop they had there. Great time to rob a bank!

The Chief Medical Examiner in Richmond ruled blunt-force injury to the chest as the cause of death.

Murder in the 2nd is a no-brainer. I'm not so sure about the 1st, either...

Dude, how am I sticking up for him if I am expressing dismay at him being freed because they overcharged him? Are you serious right now?

The whole reason I said they should have charged him with manslaughter or murder 2 is that it would be more likely to convict and sentence the guy for doing what he did.

    Understand now?

Ok, I'll defer, but the things I read were that she had a injury to a leg and died of Heart Failure. I wonder if the medical examiner's findings are available online.

Correct. OTOH, if the prosecutor puts on a few witnesses attesting to his Neo-Nazi past then play videos of him plowing into the protesters what do you think the jurors would deduce from it?

She could have had a pacemaker and one month to live from brain cancer and it'd still be murder.

You're the one claiming the conspiracy, not me, dude. You're passing along the story the this is all the Mayor and Governor's fault, not Field's.

I haven't been able to find anything on the CME's site.

If you're interested in doing a little detective work the ruling was issued on or around October 16.

This wasn't an accident. It was intentional. Field's lawyer can try the old "I thought it was the brake" excuse, but I doubt a jury will by that as fact. We shall see.

    First-Degree Murder
It is first degree murder to kill another by poison, lying in wait, imprisonment, starving, or by any willful, deliberate, and premeditated killing, or in the commission of, or attempt to commit, arson, rape, forcible sodomy, inanimate or animate object sexual penetration, robbery, burglary, or abduction.

    Second-Degree Murder
All other murder not defined as either capital murder or first-degree murder is second-degree murder, and is punishable by anywhere from five to 40 years in prison. This includes felony murder, i.e. murder that happens when the defendant is committing another felony such as robbery or carjacking. Even a death that is an accident will be considered felony murder if it happens while a felony is being committed.
