Pointing out you have no hope of supporting your nonsense is not trolling.

The SCotUS first did this in 1939.
Several circuit courts did this prior to 2008.

B-But that might injure the mass murder's self-esteem. No leftist would stand for that!

I don't think we would have to have a change in judges. To me it would only take Congress or state legislatures passing appropriate laws. For instance, banning AR 15 type military weapons would be Constitutional, but Congress will not do even that. It seems incredible to me that the NRA has only about 5 million members and they have as much political influence as they do. Surely that few people can't buy Congress with their campaign contributions.

What I think we should allow is firearms for hunting, and not hunting people. So I think a rifle or shotgun with 3 shells in a clip should be all you get. That should cut down the carnage some.

But people are also afraid of change. When Australia changed its gun laws, I heard an interview with a person who was vehemently against reducing gun availability. Then, 20 years later the same guy said, "Well, I guess it turned out all right."

By the way, given the excellent results after the reduction of gun availability after the Australian laws were passed, how can anyone possibly think that reducing guns would reduce homicides?

The NRA has scared everyone so much they have many people feeling they have to have a gun to be safe. But, maybe with companies starting to take stands against the NRA, we will begin a change.

I still think that our leftists -- to be true to their ideology -- should have DEMANDED the banning of all pressure cookers after the Boston Marathon bombing some years back. Swimming pools, too, which have been known to kill people from time to time. Automobiles MUST be banned as well!

Funny how your value for human life doesn't extend to the thousands killed by drunk drivers, and the thousands more who die from alcohol related deaths.

How do you tell which kid is an actual danger and which kid just has a big mouth and an attitude?

Keep guns away from both of them and we're all safer

We recognize — as most rational people do — that firearms are inanimate objects and that the real cause of the violence in our society are bad people, not pieces of metal.

The simple answer is that they still teach advanced math in HS, and anyone who was paying attention understands that correlation =\= causation. The basis that gun crime is a direct effect of gun access is ignorant of the myriad of other factors at play.

Just as one example: Canada has very similar gun laws as the US when it comes to rifles, but they dont have nearly the number of mass shootings with rifles. Actually they have about 10% of our overall gun crime.

They also have 10% of the population density that we do, and they have lower unemployment, both factors that have been linked to gun crime in stronger scientific terms than 'lax' gun laws.

But these terms are not a factor in our national debate on the issue. Which suggests, logically, that gun crime is not the problem being adressed, but rather the availability of guns itself is the 'problem' that some want to fix, regardless of which effects 'fixing' it will or won't have.

Now that you remind me, although I have not seen polls on specific amendments in the Bill of Rights, I have seen reports of people being asked if it is illegal to do certain things
One gun owner who reads is an anecdote. It does not make a trend.
I apologize. I overlooked the link in your earlier posting. You had your facts right in that post, and I concede the point.

Canada does not have the "gun culture" or the concept of "gun rights" that the USA has. Estimates are that gun ownership per capita in the USA is triple that of Canada.

The problem in the USA is the gun law per se; it is the gun culture, which to my knowledge does not exist in any other advanced country.

Bad people with an easy access to a quick way of committing homicide or suicide and even good people who develop a mental disorder and turn into killers due to their easy access to guns. These "inanimate objects" kill people because there are far too many of them. Pieces of metal frequently kill people, for the most part when they fall into the hands of angry white males.
