Half the cars in this state are operated by people without a valid drivers license, License plates have colored stickers on them there should never be more than two colors visible when you drive down the road, I've seen as many as five, and four is common place. The criminally inclined ignore registration laws just as they ignore all others.

When you're for applying the same restriction on say speech or right to counsel, you call me so I can mock you for that as well.

So how many guns do you believe an individual should own? There are those that collect fire arms. Antiques, and those that like to shoot different types of firearms. There are rifles used to hunt deer, others for bear and moose, then there are shotguns used for birds, Turkey, ducks, or geese. Then there the use of small bore rifles for varmints, rabbits, and squirrels. So from where I sit your question was posed as someone that has little to no knowledge of weaponry.
Registration is taxation and just another step to confiscation.

The Las Vegas shooter is reported to have owned 47 guns including 23 in his hotel room. No one seemed to have a problem with that until he actually started using them. By that time it was a bit late.

Let’s see, they are selling more guns and more ladies are purchasing their first gun but gun ownership is going down. Liberal logic 101.

Would you limit the number of hammers one could have as well? What could anyone possibly need more than 1 for right?

There is no scientific proof that gun ownership is declining. Reported gun ownership is declining, but as a gun owner, if asked on a phone survey, I wouldn't admit to owning a gun. Too much chance of the data getting into the wrong hands.

Right, because like in most sports, there are specialized equipment for different aspects of the sport. A deer hunter may have five different deer rifles and shotguns for different situations--a short, light rifle for hunting in the brush, a heavy, long-barreled scoped rifle for hunting on the edge of farmer's fields, a moderate sized scoped rifle for general deer hunting, a slug shotgun, and a pump shotgun with buckshot for dog hunting deer (it's an AL thing). Bird hunting can require an even greater variety of guns.

The shooter could have easily made a hundred deadlier weapons from mats available from Home Depot.

Because you can't take them away if you don't know where they are.

Meanwhile not one of the shooters that have been recorded have had any relationship with the NRA. In fact NRA are made up of law abiding citizens that willing join the organization and donate to freely to them. The NRA is not supported by G. Soros, J. Bezos, M. Bloomberg nor the Federal government. The NRA is solely funded by individual donations by American citizens.
BTW, New York City began registration of Rifles and Shotguns in the 1970's. When it first began you could register all your rifles or shotguns for a nominal an annual fee of $20.00 for all the firearms. Today the price of the permit has risen to $150.00 per firearm you own.

I might have missed your point. But, if there were state or federals that limited ownership to, say, 12 guns, how would that have changed the Las Vegas shooter massacre?

Well you could shoot two. Providing you have both your arms.

You can own as many as you want. Just don't point them at me and we'll get along fine.

No, I would not go along with that. It's like inviting the camel to just stick his nose in your tent.

You certainly missed some sort of point. I was answering an earlier question. I am surprised that you think I know the answer to the question you asked. Did you reply to the wrong post?
