Admittedly it's not very descriptive but they've been calling themselves that for 50 years that I know about.

Because you are making a truth claim and if I have to back it up, so do you.

Yeah, because religious people will try to guilt you into submission. "Do you want to burn in Hell?"

BTW, I believe in Leprechauns but not gods. I actually saw a leprechaun when I was on LSD back in 1986, but I have never seen a god.

This has been argued thousands of times quite exhaustively. When you claim the burden of proof is on atheists to prove God is not real then you must prove every other god you don't believe in is not real. Once you have accomplished that then we will talk.

No, if you are going to say "God does not exist" you are obliged to prove it, let me worry about the other gods, because I can do that.

I am not playing games with semantics, I am engaging in logic and reason. If you are going to claim that there is a slippery slope you have to tell me what the slope is and prove that such a thing would actually happen.

Furthermore, public school students are US citizens too and entitled to freedom of speech and freedom of religion.

If I say gods or unicorns, don't exist, it is not up to me to prove it.
It is up to the person who makes the claims to prove them.

First of all, I am not obliged to do it. Just like a person who states unicorns or leprechauns don't exist, they are not obliged to prove it. You obviously feel that others gods do not exist so by your own criteria you must prove that they don't exist. Stop dodging.

I have an invisable 6 in tall geni who sits on my shoulder, and you cannot prove I don't.

So therefore my claim must be true.

I told you what the slippery slope is. Do you need to read my post again?

Actually no it wasn't. What you attempted at best was a dodge by claiming there is no significant movement towards any of these beliefs supported only by your claim that disbelievers were not given an accepted group name.

The analogy is exact because ehat you are trynigbto claim is that not proving the existance of a god is equivalent to not proving the non existance of a god and that is rxactlybequivalent to faeries, angels leprechauns, etc etc. You cannot prove they exist nor can anyone prove they don't exist.

Also of course since the claim of gods existance predates the claim of non existance the burden of proof lies in the original or first claim.

First of all, you cannot make a statement like that.
The Gods, and Non-Gods existed long before recorded history.

And there would not even be a word like atheist, if someone did not invent a God.

Probably not unless of course you can define god so specifically that the other several thousand or so gods you don't believe in will not fit your definition.

I think that was my point. Since god came first proof of god must also come first.

    1. What is this supposed “nothing”? Do you have evidence that it does or ever did exist?

    2. Abiogenesis is the scientific theory explaining how life came from non-life.

    3. What does the distance from the Earth to the sun have to do with anything?

Atheists do not have faith god does not exist. They don’t believe in any deities. Those two things are not the same.

Now you have to prove that it will happen as a result of granting public school kids their first Amendment rights.

Personally, I think all granting them their first Amendment rights would do is cause more weeping, gnashing of teeth and rending of garments on the left.

"I Believe', I will stop at the next red light, and have faith I will do so.

But I can assure you, I will not pray to it.

You are basically trying to play word games to, In your mind, prove a point.

Cut the BS, and just prove your god, and while you are at it, prove the other gods are not real, and yours is.

Atheist and Agnostic are not mutually exclusive. One deals with belief, the other with claims of knowledge.

    1. Nothing. It means "no thing".

    2. It explains it? Not that I've seen. Aren't you supposed to be able to observe science?

    3. If the sun was either closer or farther than it is this planet would be uninhabitable except by cockroaches.

Why is it that the Abrahamic Gods rely on magic, and the Hindu gods rely on technology. 0
