Aren't peanuts grown in Africa? All the Europeans need is a peanut grinding machine. Anyway from what I gather the Europeans prefer organic products, and organic peanut butter is expensive here.

Im German. And i asked you a question, where will Boeing open its plants in Germany? So far Lufthansa buys 50% Airbus build im Germany and 50% Boeing build in USA. You say it cant stay like that. Will Boeing open plants in Germany then or should Lufthansa cancel the Boeing orders?

We have our own Airbus, which actually pushed Boeing on 2nd place already.

But you know what? Its amusing to see how you destroy yourself.

No, it was reported in the business news some time ago. I have assumed that the new Foxconn factory built in Wisconsin would be the production facility.

There are over 350,000 Chinese building 50% of the I Phones.
Someone would need to build a city not a plant.
All of the suppliers for the phone are in Asia.
Even if there was some reason to move it here it would need to be on the West coast.
Why in the world would Foxconn want to do that?

Economically this "Trade War" makes no sense for America and will be (Already is) a detriment in may ways to growth an stability of U.S. business and productivity. Over time this will lead to failure of small business and closure of unprofitable factories as well as increased cost to American consumers. Agriculture will be particularly hard hit and specialized technical production, which is already fragile will be decimated. These moves are exceedingly shortsighted and will do even more damage to international reputation and cooperation than has already been done by direct Trumpist insult.....I doubt we will ever fully recover.

7% = double the profit margin of the industry.
    Congratulations, you just went bust.

Any other national industries you can afford to lose?

Ground breaking for the Foxconn plant was on June 28th and the thing is under construction. It will build LCD displays not iphones as I first speculated.

We don't like GM, it's horrible, and you guys shouldn't to!

Organic is good but not GM is passable for most people.

Then why do you have a 70% steel tariff against them?

You have the Chinese market already.
The big one is the US. That's where the most people who can afford your stuff is.

If you wished to buy Chinese stuff instead of American, that would work.
But to sell stuff, you have to find people with enough money and there is not an unlimited supply of them..

Nice ... and what about the metalworking industry, eh? This far larger part is often forgotten in this issue!

Incidentally, the biggest crude steel importer is not the US but South Korea!

I'm not going to underestimate Trump's business acumen. Maybe he's trying to lower the value of the dollar to make us more competitive, while at the same time drawing production back to the US?

More and more countries are trading outside the petrodollar and the dollar in general, so things have to change or we are going to be in for some hard times.

I wish Trump had targeted his attacks, us against the world is not gonna work out so well, we had legitimate gripes with China, but Trump seems to be all over the board

if this goes on too long, the world gets used to surviving without US businesses

we have to tread carefully, this is a high stakes game of poker, we could lose or win big - time will tell

Well ... I did not say that China is great, as well as the conditions are great ... but unlike the US with Trump, there are rules and the rules are also so far sure that they apply. With Trump, there's just some uncertainty about what kind of BS he'll think of next!

For no one. But, if it results in a reduction of tariffs or barriers then that is excellent.

Trump adding tariffs not reducing them. Trump is putting up barriers not taking them down.

He is going to war to reduce tariffs and barriers. It may not work but that is his goal.
