I assumed you knew that based on other posts, including this one.

U.S. Criminal Code: It is a crime to conspire with a foreign adversary to undermine an election.

    Source: Fox News

I have already answered your question. Yes, it is a crime, obviously.

It is obvious because a Presidential campaign conspired with a hostile foreign power.

Define deep state. Who are its leaders? What has been said in the media that is false or propaganda, and be specific?

Can you walk the talk or is your post pure B.S.?

DJT will be your President until at least January 2021 and there's nothing you can do about it.

The meeting does not show there was a conspiracy. That is not an answer. If it was that cut and dry the FEC would have fined them already. Jr would be sitting in jail. Your theory requires evidence. We are not aware of that evidence. So I don't see how you can argue a point that currently, can't be proven.

What we can prove is that the meeting did occur. The evidence we have is that the meeting was setup to obtain what they thought was important information about Hillary Clinton.

    So.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Could the information a person receives from a foreign power, ever be substantial enough, to warrant a meeting with that foreign power, justifiable?
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This question is very important, because it is the defense for the meeting. Can you counter that defense?

Cohen's claim is that Junior told Dad himself. Yes, Cohen could be wrong. That's why I used the word if.

If it isn't legal why isn't various members of team hillary facing indictment. We already know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they purchased stuff through various cutouts from foreign sources?

Just curious. . .what would it take to make you care more for the security of our country than your enthusiasm & loyalty to Trump?

"What we can prove is that the meeting did occur." Not just any meeting. You make it sound like coffee klatch. It was meeting between three high level members of Trump's election campaign -- his son, his son-in-law, and his campaign manager -- and four representatives of the Russian government whose purpose was to aid the Trump campaign (see OP). They met at Trump's home, Trump Tower.

We know from the emails from Goldstone that Russia wanted to provide dirt on the Clinton campaign. We know from those emails that the Russian government wanted to help Trump get elected. (See OP)

What we do not know is what transpired during that meeting, although that hardly matters. We do know that the only sources of information regarding the meeting are the high level members of the Trump campaign and anything they say will be self-serving.

There are countless number of lies from Junior, Trump, and Trump's lawyers concerning this meeting. The White House was forced to use damage control on earlier damage control caused by still earlier damage control. It is difficult to believe anything said by Trump, Junior, or the lawyers regarding the meeting with four Russian operatives.

We know the first email regarding that meeting was sent on June 3, 2016. Junior and his cohorts say that the Russians were not forthcoming. We only have their word on that. The Trump Tower meeting took place on June 9, 2016.

However, on June 7, then-candidate Donald Trump teased a major speech in which he’d detail dirt about the Clintons.

“I am going to give a major speech on — probably Monday of next week — and we’re going to be discussing all of the things that have taken place with the Clintons,” Trump said. “I think you’re going to find it very informative, and very, very interesting.”

That would strongly suggest that on June 7, Trump knew about the upcoming meeting with representatives of the Russian government. Knowledge and approval of that meeting would constitute collaboration with a hostile foreign government regardless of the results of the meeting.

Beginning in June, Americans were treated to a blizzard of disclosures from WikiLeaks that lasted for three and half months. WikiLeaks provided the product of Russian hacking of the DNC and Podesta computers. There were several each day, and they were quite damaging to the Clinton campaign while aiding the Trump campaign in a major way.

Despite his praises toward Russia and WikiLeaks during the campaign, Trump would have us believe that was no collaboration on his part. He knew nothing about any of this.

That is a premise that is difficult to accept.

"The meeting does not show there was a conspiracy." You can tell me black is white all day. You can reuse to face reality. That is your choice. That meeting proved an attempt to conspire. Actions by Trump (June 7 speech) and subsequent events (the WikiLeaks disclosures) prove there was a conspiracy and our intelligence agencies say so.

Now if you are going to overlook all this and say it was just a meeting, be my guest.

On the other hand, thank you for providing me the opportunity to review all this for forum members. Some have gone astray, talking about OJ, deep state, and Facebook.

Nothing to show that Trump knew though. Can't find him guilty for what others do.

There were numerous lies from Trump, Junior, and Trump's lawyers concerning the Trump Tower meeting. This begs a question. Supposedly, the Trumps are innocent of any misbehavior regarding this meeting.

    Why all the lying?

Do you even care? Or is it okay with you and other Trump fans that the President lies to you? You are okay with that?

At first they said the topic of meeting was the adoption of Russian children and the Magnitsky Act.

On July 8, 2017, Junior got caught in the lie. The New York Times first published the existence of the Trump Tower meeting. Trump Jr. said it was a “short introductory meeting” primarily discussing a Russian adoption program and that it was “not a campaign issue at the time.” Reports then surfaced that Trump Jr. knew damaging information about Clinton would be provided, and the damaging emails that told the truth about the meeting were published.

Trump’s lawyer, Jay Sekulow, denied the President was involved in drafting Trump Jr.’s initial, misleading statement about the meeting, in which he claimed its primary purpose was to discuss adoption. Sekulow said on July 12, 2017, that “I wasn’t involved in the statement drafting at all, nor was the President.”

Washington Post reported the President was involved in the decision to construct Trump Jr.’s misleading statement and actually “dictated the statement” to his communications director, Hope Hicks.

The White House defended Trump's involvement in issuing a statement about his son's meeting with a Russian lawyer during the campaign, saying that the statement was true and that the President was simply acting as a father.

After the news broke in July 2017, Trump told the New York Times, “No, I didn’t know anything about the meeting… must have been a very unimportant meeting, because I never even heard about it.” Shortly thereafter, he spoke to the press and said, “I only heard about it two or three days ago.”

Trump Jr. has corroborated that account. When testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee in September 2017, he said he “did not” tell his father about the email exchange “because I wouldn’t bring him anything that’s unsubstantiated” and “because it had nothing to do with him.”

Trump's son, Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and Trump's campaign manager, Paul Manafort, met with four Russian operatives at Trump's home, Trump Tower, to gain leverage over the Clinton campaign. We are supposed to believe, according to Trump, that he knew nothing about the meeting.

Yes, that's just what I mean. Unless you know for sure he knew of the meeting before hand, he can't be convicted what his son did. No more than I can be convicted of anything my son did.
