Twitter is a private business and has every right, legally and morally, to set Terms of Service for their members. Members who get a FREE medium to post their views, by the way. I thought Jones and his peeps were against free rides?

 

A donor is not a paying customer. Being a donor doesn't allow you special rights or the ability to violate the TOS. Even if Jones donated one of his many millions to Twitter, that doesn't buy him the right to spread hate in violation of the rules. It might buy him (or a PF donor) a little lenience, but if all warnings are disregarded, anyone can be banned.

The problem is that they claim to be unbiased. They're not openly anti-conservative.

 

Did the baker have a sign that said he wouldn't bake gay people's cakes? No he didn't. They hid their bias from the public while it served their purpose.

 

Do we know how the offending video violates the terms? Apparently it showed Jones harassing a reporter, but he wasn't using twitter to DO the harassing, so I don't understand what the problem was. Unless the video contained offensive content, which I can't see that it would.

The baker is certainly now openly Christian and makes his point clear, after the incident. Twitter on the other hand, after this incident, are not openly anti conservative and biased.

As for the bias, I think it is a soft bias. As in the people who handle the violations and stuff trend liberal, so they are more likely to minimize the rule breaks on their side and maximize the others. So while the company may have designed the rules to be neutral and intend to be neutral that is why enforcement doesn't appear to be. Of course we can all go back and forth on who side is getting better calls on a given platform, football game, etc. We will tend to project negative items on our 'side' as attacks and negative to the other side as 'just' or 'fair'. My issue with twitter and FB is that they have TOS that is opaque and not handled evenhandedly.

As for AntiFa, yes, they do, but unless they are breaking the TOS, I can see why Twitter allows them just like they allow David Duke and Richard B. Spencer. You follow them, don't you?

 

I don't know the details myself. What I do know is Twitter has banned someone for life for what I understand is content they don't like.

I haven't read that the content showed people being killed or maimed, or contained child porn or anything like that.

I checked to see if alt-left conspiracy sites like DailyKos and ThinkProgress still have open access to Twitter, and last I checked, they do. While haven't spent any real time on InfoWars, I do get multiple updates from both Kos and ThinkProg, and I don't see any difference.
