I then asked myself the following question; How many Canadians have been sent to the U.S. by their own health agencies, and at their tax payer's expense?

Answer; Thousands! and interestingly, Canadian health agencies have created a large number of partnerships with U.S. border hospitals and medical universities because they have smaller capital budgets. In other words, cheaper to send patients in the U.S. versus the cost of building new hospitals.

In addition, Canada's single-payer is an ESSENTIAL CARE health care system, and their public health care plans do not cover non-essential cosmetic surgeries, thus, how many Canadians do seek their non-essential cosmetic surgeries in the U.S.?

Also, thousands of Canadians do seek care in the U.S. because they are rich, thus, "I WANT TO BE CARED FOR...….IMMEDIATELY"

THUS, overall, how many Canadians do seek medical care in the U.S. because their system stinks?

Answer; Name me a health care system where its satisfactory level equates to 100%?

Answer; Perhaps the same percentage as Americans seeking medical care abroad due to COST.

 

I'm not against there being some sort of subsidized insurance plan. But it shouldn't be a permanent way of life it shouldn't be for everyone and it should be based on need and merit

here is point where we diverge. I think people who can afford to care for themselves should care for themselves they don't need to be cared for.

I disagree if you become ill to the point it threatens your life you can go to a county hospital and get treatment. The hospital is not going to tell people to go die in the gutter.

 

It is sad....Unfortunately as my dad always used to say...Medicine started going downhill the moment they invented insurance.....He was a Pharmacist, my sister is a PA, and my daughter is an RN....And thank you for your care throughout your career.

You think a family that makes $50,000 can afford "eating out", concerts and sporting events ? That family, after paying for that $10,000 for their insurance takes home around $1900. Thats has to cover housing, food, gas, clothes, and everything else. This idea that everyone is just wasting money is ridiculous. Some do, but most are just trying to make ends meet
