In the last election Hillary and the democrats kissed goodbye to the coal miners. Now the President of the Steelworkers Union is suggesting their membership vote for Trump.

He is suggesting this for the simple fact that President Trump is revitalizing the American steel industry.

This is just another voting block that democrats have alienated.

Like Cokie Roberts said, vote your pocketbook.

She hasn't been saying that lately, but she used to say it back in the day when democrats were for working people.

This seems pretty positive. While not going so far as to literally suggest 'vote for Trump', it is an optimistic view of the outcome of the tarriffs, which would not be unreasonable to logically extend to a suggestion for those who would most benefit from a positive outcome of the tarriffs to vote for Trump.

Let's pretend you're actually right and no steel workers are going to vote D in November. That's about 150,000 people. Why should the rest of the US get screwed over to protect the jobs of 150,000?

Two reasons. 1) They are fellow Americans, and 2) we NEED our own steel industry to protect the whole country. Oh and I guess 3) would be that we are not sending our dollars over seas.

Is the steel industry disappearing? It seems to be pretty steady since recovering from the recession.

The jobs in steel are disappearing due to automation. It take a dozen people to do the work that used to take over 10x the number of workers.

Why should I pay more money for products to protect an industry that seems to be doing fine?

Unfortunately you dont seem to be aware how small the steel industry has become in the last couple of decades. We need a capable steel industry to be there in a time of emergency.

Oh and just look at your paying more for products as the redistribution of wealth the left loves.

This from a guy who celebrates ethnonationalism in his profile photo.

Please tell us what about the GOP is "white supremacist" and tell us why Israel's Jewish-only immigration and marriage laws aren't "supremacist"?

So in other words, it's OK for Jews to have ethnic homelands and ethnically/religiously restrictive immigration, but if white gentiles do it, "white supremacist."

    Right?

Go ahead and try to build a Nazi state. See if the movement doesn't get utterly crushed and destroyed.

Small compared to what? Show me that data. The jobs have been lost to automation. Steel production is at about the same level it was at in the 1980s.

You telling me what I like or dislike is a stupid way to debate.

So you think they will all vote Republican, the party who supported their formers' right to fire them and replace them with robots. Cause thats what happened to the coal jobs...Automation.

And Republicans, who push for automation, only support coal because they get money from the coal companies to do so, They don't care about the workers. While the democrats want to replace coal jobs with renewable energy jobs, which are growing by hundreds of thousands of jobs a year, and give free jobs training to coal workers to help them transition.

Thank you for making my point. The country NEEDS more American steel production than we had in 1980!!!!!!!!!
