    Trump Threatens To Order Military To 'Close Our Southern Border' Over Immigration​
    President Donald Trump on Thursday threatened to shut the U.S.-Mexico border, claiming without evidence that several Central American countries are allowing “many criminals” to head to the U.S.


    Trump, in a series of tweets, said he would “call up” the military to close the border if Mexico fails to “stop this onslaught.”

    I am watching the Democrat Party led (because they want Open Borders and existing weak laws) assault on our country by Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador, whose leaders are doing little to stop this large flow of people, INCLUDING MANY CRIMINALS, from entering Mexico to U.S.....

    In addition to stopping all payments to these countries, which seem to have almost no control over their population, I must, in the strongest of terms, ask Mexico to stop this onslaught - and if unable to do so I will call up the U.S. Military and CLOSE OUR SOUTHERN BORDER!..

    The assault on our country at our Southern Border, including the Criminal elements and DRUGS pouring in, is far more important to me, as President, than Trade or the USMCA. Hopefully Mexico will stop this onslaught at their Northern Border. All Democrats fault for weak laws!

    Mexico does nada as Central Americans illegally cross the border into Mexico with the intention of doing the same into :flagus:

    The caravans are on the move and LSM does not truly report it beyond a passing news story. Where is the alarmism.

    This is an excellent move by Trump, there's no way Mexico wants troops on our border and then shutting it down. Mexico has to stop the invading force which will make Trump look like a winner. And look, it's October, we get to vote in a few weeks. Thanks Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador.

    The problem is, if you put a bunch of infantryman along the border, some civilians may end up dead. Trump has to be careful here, but I still favor taking some kind of action over just rolling over.

    Hundreds of Central Americans poured out of Guatemala to try to enter Mexico on Friday, running into a wall of police in Mexico, whose government has promised to tackle the caravan of migrants that has angered U.S. President Donald Trump.


    Mexican television footage showed hundreds of the migrants pushing through Guatemalan border posts and streaming onto a bridge connecting Mexico and Guatemala, only to be met by dozens of Mexican police in riot gear on the other side.

    The footage showed migrants violently shaking fences at the border, though initial indications from officials were that the police lines were holding against the surge.

    The Mexican government has sought assistance from the United Nations refugee agency to help process migrants claiming refugee status at the southern border, a step that could allow it to disperse the train of people and placate Trump.
