I don't see an analogy. An employment contract can (in some instances) be a property interest. But that wasn't the issue.

Acosta's press credentials gave him access that he used to pursue his profession. Just as Robert Sherrill's credentials gave him. I assume that is a property interest. The govt cannot revoke that without due process. The govt can't take away your medicare without DP, they can't take your money without due process and they can't deport you without due process .... assuming you have some legal status to be here.

It wasn't a tough question, and I don't think anyone had much doubt. The fact the WH lied about Acosta presenting a security issue sealed the deal, and even the judge commented on the lameness.

The problem is, Trump uses them to his advantage. But yeah, he could take some time off from them since it is not campaign season.

In a free country its up to him. He just needs to find a platform that will accept him, and that's it.

    https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/2013/10/10/cpj-report-on-obama-press/2960607/

Despite President Obama's promises of transparency, the White House blocks routine information for reporters, seeks aggressive prosecution of classified information leakers and uses its own media channels to shape its messaging, according to a scathing new report by the Committee to Protect Journalists.
Authored by former Washington Post executive editor Leonard Downie Jr., the report portrays an administration gripped by strict policies about information flow and paranoid about leaks across all executive branch departments.

"This is the most closed, control freak administration I've ever covered," David E. Sanger, chief Washington correspondent of The New York Times, told Downie, who now teaches journalism at Arizona State University.

Ok. I was overlooking the government aspect. Due process only protects one from unjust loss by the government.

you mean voter suppression republican are using to try and win

then being upset that signatures have to be used to validate those voters removed from the rosters in error

those voters have a right to vote, just cause their signature is not 100% consistent is not a reason to deny them a right to vote

By hand, the Democrats can easily suppress voters.

To date, no evidence is available that the republicans suppress votes or voters

I guess it would be the same if you had some kind of tenured or contract job with gummit, and they fired you.

That may be a question. Nothing prevents other reporters from being more confrontational with Trump. And if they perceive no upside in being civil, they may do that.

Nixon's pressers got ugly towards the end.
