Nobody is forced to work at Walmart. If one can't operate his own business and nobody else is willing to hire him, if Walmart hires him, Walmart is doing him a favor. Why is Walmart the bad guy in this scenario?

 

You can find a rooming house that you can live off minimum wage. I had roommates and we shared rent and expenses. Yes you are for wage controls that have nothing to do with the work being performed.

 

Then do like I did an go to a different place, I moved from the Gulf Coast to Chicago. And we currently have an abundance of jobs. I call on manufacturers in my sales job and they are all looking for workers.

 

I know the Walmart here hires young people who have gotten in trouble with the law and the court orders them to get a job and report back. Not many want to hire them but Walmart will and give them a chance at a new start.

 

Sorry bro, you increase labor at a company like Walmart and it most certainly will effect a very large segment of the lower income in this country. Of course there is the off chance that Walmart might take less profit, but I think we both know that's not going to happen.

 

It is certainly soaring less than when the Democrats controlled it and yes the Democrats had a choice as to what policies they would pass to help mitigate the recession and they choose HUGE spending increases which totally failed as they always do. Again, did the wealthy whom you seem to have a problem with lay more in capital gains taxes under the high tax rates under Clinton of the lower tax rates under Bush. If revenue and lowering the deficits is your goal should that rate be set at 29%, $66B in revenue, or 15%, $137B in revenue?

Obama's spending is what helped get us out of the recession and bring us to a rising economy and that isn't "fake". We would be in a depression today. I do not have a problem with the wealthy. I think that the huge tax cuts for the wealthy were not necessary and could have been used for healthcare, soc security, Medicare, reduction of the soaring national debt.

I was no different from most stop making excuses. I was in Chicago for three years, moved back to my hometown, took another job that took me to Louisiana for eight years. You do what you have to do.

 

The job loss rate bottomed out the month he moved to the White House. The recession ended the following June before any stimulus was put into effect and it failed to get us into a full recovery. Who told Obama's stimulus did anything at all? Remember he had to admit to it's failure. If the tax rate cuts produce MORE revenue so you can spend MORE on those programs what is your complaint?

There were 4 times the realizations at the 15% rate, that reflects growth and economic activity and that is what produces tax revenues. Clinton's tax rate increase slowed the rate of tax revenue increase and GDP growth in a strong growth period he inherited.

 

Why do you want to lower profit to Walmart? Do you have retirement savings? A 401k? Do you realize how many people either rely on those profits to grow their retirement funds of paying them income in retirement? Your life insurance companies invest in such companies even you health insurance companies invest in such companies to fund your insurance.

 

It is well worth YouTubing the entire interview and then the one where a very young Michael Moore tries to debate him on corporate responsibility.

 

But it doesn't necessarily follow that they're cut out for a life of unhappiness. Walmart stock would tank if the ever put a Bernie Sanders in charge and thousands would lose the jobs they have.

 

Again - good for you. But your lack of understanding of others' situations or the empathy that goes along with it tells me that we won't see eye to eye in order to truly discuss this.
