Dear fereigners you know who you are

Time to remember and Thank The Lord for Japanese errors of judgement.

My Uncle was on the Battleship Nevada, next to the Arizona to be the Memorial.
The Nevada was the only battleship to get underway and make a run for the open ocean until ordered to beach itself rather than risk the obstruction of a sunken battleship in the narrow harbor entrance at Pearl.

Consider, Japanese misjudgement of an American population who wanted nothing to do with "their war", whether in Europe or China - . . . . . converted over night.

Anyways, any fereigners, especially :flagcanada:s who wish to say "Thank You :flagus:"
    please chime in.
    And anyone else of course.
It's about Pearl Harbor and the Day of Infamy
Number killed about the same as the Twin Towers Attack. But, Twin Towers were civilians

December 7, a significant day creating our modern world.
    An :flagus: :salute: world. :)

I've always been suspicious of that. The Japanese had their hands forced when we put an oil blockade around their country, and had a base right there in Hawaii as well as the philippines. You can't pretend to be attacked out of the blue if you keep punching somebody. Not to mention meddling in their war with China. They send bombers over and who is up in the air to greet them? Americans.

I've read that the near escape of the U.S.S. Nevada was a great inspiration to survivors of Pearl Harbor that witnessed it.

How much of the world would it have been acceptable for the Japanese to conquer before we should get involved?

And at that point, what would be our chance of survival?

Then stop acting like a lefty by asking stupid questions. If you have some argument or rebuttal to make, then make it. Asking stupid questions is what lefties do.

Did you know that lots of countries didn't take part in either ww1 or ww2? Did you know that most countries didn't care what happened on the Korean peninsula or Vietnam?

A lefty probably doesn't realize this, which is why they would ask stupid questions like what you asked me.

Man up and give some reasons for why you think your question is relevant, or just vote for Hillary in 2020.

They are apparently stupid questions which you are not able to answer. At that point they are no longer stupid questions.

The Japanese were brutal conqueror were very successful at controlling the people they conquered. There is a chance that they would have eventually bite off more than they chew and would be unable to proceed further. That is a very risky assumption and the consequences of being wrong are catastrophic.

As far as not wanting to die for another country, we are all going to die sometime. I prefer not to wait until I have some foreign soldier knocking down my families door before I do it.

So your reason for entering ww2 is because the Japanese are brutal conquerers... Yes, they certainly were, and can be again if they wanted to, I imagine.

You say you prefer not to wait, and just dive right on into wars that have nothing to do with us. Well okay. Then dive on in. I'm an American so I believe in non-intervention. Let foreigners fight their wars if they want.

Still, that's a piss poor reason to go off and die in some stupid trench because the Brits were too stupid to keep their noses out of European wars.

You can die for your beliefs, but I prefer to live because of mine. Honestly, I think your reasons are nonsense. You were shot at? Yeah, well... that's what happens when your nose gets a bit too long. Stop worrying about other countries and you wouldn't have been shot at.

The Germans and Japanese did a lot of underestimating of the Allies.

    They never had a chance.

We were the guy watching a fight, and then decided to enter. Yes, both wars were a real slugfest. Our entry into both wars was crucial, but...

Really necessary? The Europeans spit on us now.

Indeed it was. Contrary to the myth a majority of Americans were already willing to go to war in Asia to stop Japanese expansion and either a majority or plurality were convinced that going to war with Nazi Germany at some point would be necessary. The American public's commitment to isolationism took a massive hit when France fell & Britain was under threat. American's understood that a Europe dominated by Nazism & an Asia dominated by Imperial Japan was a threat to US interests.

A threat to US interests, but what were those interests? A bunch of bankers?

Yeah, I think I'll bow out of that one.

Belch is right, Germany was already mired down in WWI. Without US interference it was a stalemate and sooner or later all countries involved would have made treaties. Germany would not have been looted and that would have greatly lessened the chances of an another war in Europe. Without Germany occupying British troops in WWII, Japan would never have been able to reek havoc in the Orient. Without a Hitler led Germany for a role model, Japan would also have been much less likely to try and expand it's empire.

US interference in WWI was a stupid move. That involvement was the cause of WWII. The US should have stayed on the sidelines. American lives and treasure were wasted for nothing.

At some point you have to stop bullies. Generally it is better to do it sooner rather than later.

    Yes but in the end,
    Our Jewish Scientists were better
    than theirs. Ka BOOM!

Of course it helped to be able to consume 1/3rd of the electricity
production in America with FDR's electrification programs completed
but not yet wired into service.

As far as the way "they" treat us today -
    Get Out.
    Withdraw.
    No Defense assistance games.
    No this and that.
    No NATO
Invite the U.N. to build a 21st Century HQ, elsewhere. Suggest Brazil.

It's not even our involvement in ww1 that gets me irratated at this nonsense. It's that we were somehow just sitting here doing nothing but twiddling our thumbs when the Japanese decided to bomb pearl harbor. We were as far into that war as we could get without actually declaring war. As far as the Japanese were concerned, we were already at war. The only thing missing was a formal declaration of war.

A day of infamy, my arse!!!! More like America had done everything possible to make it necessary.

You don't know much about the battle of Britain, I take it. That was won despite everybody involved thinking it was already lost. The only thing the British had was an early form of radar. That's what really turned the tide.
