The states that have been named for you have the GOP running the legislature. That is where laws get made

So if we have to license Second Amendment rights should we also license First Amendment rights or Fourth or Fifth Amendment rights?

Valid point. So what is the overall cause in your opinion?

While I've never studied the overall causes of crime I would venture to guess...
    Parental relations
    Hereditary and brain activity
    Education
    Peer influence
    Drugs and alcohol
    to name a "few"

Obviously those of us in this discussion were raised in very good environments where even the thought of violent crime isn't something we would ever entertain. For others, violent crime is something they don't even think twice about doing.

Canadian cities have higher crime than NYC. Gun crime in Australia, and the UK increased after guns were banned, and the Japanese people have always been disarmed.

NYC is a "Rich Ghost Town".

DP run cities are the main problem almost everywhere in the US. There is nothing subtle about it.

Hahahaha...way to stick your head in the sand and ignore the facts I have presented.

Curious...how is it, based on YOUR logic of "More Gun Control = Less Armed Citizens = More Crime." does TX (along with the other list of states I've already mentioned) have a higher violent crime rate than NY and MA? Can you explain that?

Making laws and those laws being enforced are two different things.... You forget that the democratically controlled cities that are usually to blame for the crime numbers are MANAGED by their own leaders.... Case in point... Sanctuary cities... They deny supporting/enforcing laws that WOULD reduce crime. To some extent, they get what they ask for.

The DP leaders who run our urban Hell Holes are doing many things to encourage crime and the failure of the criminal justice system, but there would clearly be far less crime if more armed citizens were shooting down more felons in the act.

Isn't that pretty obvious to you?

Do you suppose the GOP might be "indifferent" to the failure of DP run cities?
Where have you seen that posted before - like again and again? ;-)

Oh I see...it's all those DP leaders in all those red states with lax gun laws that are causing all of the crime.

Could you point out to me which DP run cities in TX, have strict gun laws comparable to NY and MA?

Then the GOP is to blame for not running their state correctly. Thanks. Lol

It is interesting that violent crime is literally all over the map. Some states with lax gun laws have high crime. some don't. Some states with tough gun laws have high crime, some don't. I would agree the factors you list are likely the cause of the problems. That being said, it seems inappropriate to try and fix all those social, economic, educational issues by simply implementing forms of gun control.

As Vegas likes to point out, "we can do many things at once". But why not start with fixing the root cause of the problems rather than trying to fix all these issues with gun control?
