like all alternate facts from the right a complete myth....an extremely few candians go the usa for healthcare, it makes no sense when we get better healthcare here...the alternate facts group has problems with reality, the vast majority of candians receiving healthcare in the US do so because 1-they live there and 2nd they're on vacation...there are a few who head south for ailments that are so rare the numbers afflicted don't make it feasible for MDs in Canada to specialize ...and there is the occasional millionaire in a hurry when he/she wants to jump the queue...but your claim is complete BS...

another myth, everyone waits in line...MDs don't sit around all day waiting for their special patient (you) to arrive...

wait times only shorten when people are denied access to care...instead of 30million being denied healthcare so that your wait isn't so long(poor you) why not cut out 300 million or even 330 million...that way you can be only patient of the day and not have to wait...oh wait there's a problem, you're not wealthy enough to pay for that privilege to sit next to the billionaires in the waiting room...

I doubt that. Health care is available to the poor and folks with no insurance, you'll just have to stand in line to get it. I know, I went 7 years with no health insurance. I went to the County Health Center for regular stuff and the County Hospital if I needed anything else. Did I have to wait in line...yep. Did it suck...yep. But, I wasn't in a position for full time employment and company sponsored health care. Am I now...yep. I work hard for a Cadillac Health Plan at the age of 61 with disabilities. If I can still work after being run over by a 28,000 lb Armored Truck on the highway at 55 mph 25 years ago, for those that simply can't there is SSI Disability/Medicare. For those that won't, go wait in line at the County, you'll get care.

Government run health care at its finest. I just got my latest bill from the VA. I have been arguing back and forth with them since June trying to get my payment figured out. I didn't believe I owed the amount I was billed but finally decided to pay it before it hurt my credit. I sent the amount they wanted but our letters must have passed in the mail. They got my money but as they felt it was a little late the have now billed me $1.99 and charged me .08 cents interest. Getting to this point where I finally own less than two dollars was a lot of fun. I talked to the billing people and they told me I needed to talk to my local VA. I called the local VA, went through three different people to finally get transferred to the billing people who told me to call my local VA. After three times of this and trying to explain my problem to each person I spoke with I finally found someone who gave me a VA White House Hot Line number. I called there and the gentleman was very helpful but said it would take at least 60 days to straighten out the problem. That was when I finally decided to just pay the entire bill, even the part I didn't believe were my charges.

Let's hurry up and get this wonderful government system in place for every American.

 

If you want to class all medical care in the US as a system and some are not getting care then I would agree they are "not in the system". The fact that we have private medical facilities and private doctors available in the US, any person can walk into one of those facilities and be seen by a doctor. So there you have it, healthcare available to everyone.

 

We need to define 'system".
