No law has been broken. The IRS has seen his return and haven't arrested him. He's no doubt got a team of tax lawyers and CPAs. I'm quite sure it's all legal.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/08/us/politics/house-democrats-anticorruption-voting-rights.html

Democrats also successfully put down an attempt by Republicans to divide the caucus and tar the legislation with a resolution expressing the sense that “allowing illegal immigrants the right to vote devalues the franchise and diminishes the voting power of United States citizens.”

You are 11 months older than I am and we both saw things happen in this country the majority of Democrats can only chat about. WE SAW this happen.

    FDR We saw him
    Truman We saw him
    And so forth

To them a lot of things are new. They think nothing like Trump happened in our past.

What do they think England thought of George Washington and his merry band of traitors?

They scream that the South were traitors yet ignore what the Founders kept announcing about sticking to a government they despised.

Trump is not new. Trump simply wants the Government to function properly.

Mitch McConnell insists on scuttling the bill without any discussion of any part of it. He is a persistent foe of the democratic process so that he can keep low income people and minorities from voting!

I have voted for presidents since Kennedy and to this day never saw any tax returns by any of them.

I do however study the FCC financial reports that discloses their entire finances to all of us.

Why the hell didn't Nancy shove this through when she first ran the Congress? Why the hell now when she can't get support?

Then move to Kentucky and vote him out. That's the democratic thing to do.
Here's a whiney snowflake Dem "I don't like you. You should leave".

The Republicans would also reject proposals for lowering the voting age to 14 and opening up voting to all “residents” instead of “American citizens”.

    We’re just mean.

I wouldn't say a nothingburger...this Bill is nothing more then a direct assault on Free Speech...targeted directly at political speech, which is the cornerstone of the 1st Amendment. This Bill is nothing short of pure Fascism and those that support it are Fascist Brown Shirts.....a dark day in America that this was even introducted in Congress.

This reasoning follows a disturbing pattern. It's OK for him not to make his tax returns public, breaking with established tradition (even though he lied about a audit being the reason and promised to release them during the campaign) because the law doesn't require him to do so. It's OK for him, in unprecedented fashion, to grant a security clearance to his unqualified son-in-law over the objections of the CIA, his chief-of-staff, and his WH counsel because he has the authority. It's OK for him to go far out of the norm and criticize the Fed chief, judges, the DOJ, and call the media the enemy of the people, because no one can stop him. It's OK for him to hold on to his financial interests, creating clear conflicts of interest, despite previous presidents divesting themselves. There actually is a prohibition against this but Don feels like he can make up his own rules.

IOW, for the minions no ethical, legal, or moral violation is too egregious. All for the sake of a temporary boost to GDP driven by deficit spending adding billions to the national debt.

They are attempting to subvert the constitution and allow non US citizens to vote and be counted to create reapportionment in the congress.. Simple power grab.

House Passes the Most Significant Democracy Reform Bill in a Generation
The Democratic measure would expand voting rights and crack down on gerrymandering and dark money.

    https://www.motherjones.com/politic...ficant-democracy-reform-bill-in-a-generation/

The House of Representatives on Friday passed the most significant democracy reform bill introduced in Congress since the Watergate era by a vote of 234 to 193. The sweeping bill, known as HR 1: the For the People Act, would massively expand voting rights, crack down on gerrymandering, reduce the influence of big money in politics, and require sitting presidents and presidential candidates to release 10 years of tax returns.

“It’s one of the most comprehensive packages of democracy reform we’ve seen in a generation,” Rep. John Sarbanes (D-Md.), the chief sponsor of the bill, told Mother Jones.
    ................................................................................................................
No wonder every Repub voted against it.

    "Pure democracy is mob rule."

Suppressing the vote among targeted groups............the goal of the GOP for decades................is anti-democratic.

"McConnell has expressed his fervent opposition to even relatively uncontroversial sections of the bill, such as making Election Day a federal holiday in order to give people more time to vote. McConnell called this a “power grab” for Democrats, a striking admission that Republicans do better when fewer people vote."
