Donald Trump to NRA: Concealed Carry Can Thwart Heinous Attacks

Our liberties are being eroded by every administration we have had since I can remember. It isn’t freedom to have the police kick in your door, kill you and your pets, and face virtually zero repercussions . It isn’t freedom to be arrested for having a weed growing in your backyard. It isn’t freedom for states to gerrymander districts to such an extent they get the results they want.

As for having 300MM weapons in the country (it’s actually closer to 400MM — our citizens hold almost half of all privately owned firearms), how well do you believe that would work against our military if they mobilized. It would be bloody, many would die, but civilians would most likely lose every time.

 

How many times have you been confronted by lethal force from which you defended yourself? Care to share the details of of these amazing feats of bravery?

Truer (or more frightening) words were never spoken! I don't know how anyone expects civilians will have the ability to defend themselves with concealed handguns against the weapons of war available only to our military.

 

The united states military would be at a significant disadvantage in the fielding of such equipment on united states soil, in highly urban areas, as opposed to fielding such equipment in less developed countries of the world that do not have the same infrastructure. The united states infrastructure is one raw exposed nerve and can easily be disrupted, especially if the military is lured into conflict at a key location where collateral damage will affect millions. One cannot simply bomb a potential enemy combatant who is located next to a power relay station, without risking a cascade power outage that would affect many states for a significant period of time. Such would result in a significant loss of public support for not only the military, but the united states government.

What many do not realize or accept is that if war were declared against the united states citizenry, every single one of the some three hundred and eleven million individuals currently residing within the country would need to be treated and regarded as potential enemy combatants, regardless of age or relation, as there is no telling which child or senior citizen may be used as a potential walking explosive device.

Except for the simple fact that the NRA has not done anything to facilitate so much as a single mass killing, nor have they used any language that would suggest they condone and advocate for mass killings.

If it is believed otherwise, then prove otherwise. Show precisely what the NRA has done to facilitate mass killings that simply could not have been committed otherwise.

The treaty has nothing to do with the 2nd Amm, and everything to do with reducing the risk that international transfers of conventional arms will be used to carry out the world’s worst crimes, including terrorism, genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes.

It's not how many times one has defended themselves from lethal force, its how prepared are you to defend yourself from lethal force if you must to do so?

I don't carry a gun because I feel inadequate; I carry a gun because unarmed and facing three armed thugs, I am inadequate.

 

I once had a road rage guy walk towards my car in a threatening manner, I put my handgun on the dashboard and he turned around.

My son was with a group of friends when armed bad guys broke in and shot and killed one of his friends three feet from him and beat others, he wished he had his gun but was prohibited by military rules (he was in the 101st Airborne at the time).

How many times have you used your seatbelt/airbag or life insurance?

 

Let me know what Dirty Donald supports concealed carry and overrides the Secret Service on the issue at his hate rallies.

 

Numbers mattered then, they stood in a field and shot each other. While some gorilla tactics occluded and strategy maddened considerably what good do you believe even the most powerful standard civilian weapon would be against an air assault or a tank battalion?

The scenario is mostly hypothetical to show that the “principals” of America have changed, handguns can protect your home and your family which is enough reason to not ban them outright but as for protecting us against an oppressive government it’s an absurd notion.

An aside, They have suffered massive casualties and we are having to transport troops and equipment into unknown lands from across the world. They wouldn’t have that problem here. Especially if they enlist the police forces that feel they are on the right side.
