Well Assange did brought this on himself, after all he did help bring Trump to the White House, and now it's the same person who's eager to get him to prison.

Can't help but wonder how Wikileaks will respond, or what dirt they plan to air in retaliation.

The dnc helped trump. I have no issues with wiki releasing their dirt or the NYT either If there is no dirt there is no issue.

Not really. A majority of the voters in the primaries chose Clinton and Trump, in spite of the fact they are extremely unpopular, though Trump did receive some boosting from Russia in the form of the DNC email leaks and heavy dumping of online astroturfing.

I have posted on this forum for many years.

No Democrat brought this up as a reason why they would not vote for Hillary.

This issue only showed up when past Trump being sworn into office, a shadow government made it an issue.

No democrats on this forum admitted they voted for Trump and not Hillary due to things they read on Facebook alleged to come to Facebook by the Russians. I do not recall in Congress a single witness testified they gave up on Hillary due to Facebook ads.

So, what I want to see is proof democrats changed their mind!!!

I can understand why there are so many Americans against Assange simply because you appear to be sort of Gangs in who you support. Everyone with one opinion apparently votes Republican and another Democrat.

Sadly in this Obama let Democracy down. I had heard years ago about him getting a reporter put in jail in Yemen for daring to be an investigative reporter and daring to report the truth. That was just the tip of the iceberg and he left the situation open for Trump to pick up and use as he wants despite people repeatedly asking him to close these doors before Trump became President. Obama was bad enough but I think Trump has gone after the press almost as much as Obama did in just 2 years and of course the Democrats then got upset over Assange leaking of Hilary which I have heard was deliberate to let people know before they voted for her and warn the world of impending doom. Some people believe that in our Global World where in particular a Nation with the power of the US affects everyone such a move was correct.

(The writer, John Keane is Prof of Politics at Sydney University)

I would also remind people that in a different thread I gave a link to Bolton claiming those in power in the US do not need to go by the Constitution and that he believed that sometimes it was important to go against foreign Press in a way which would be unacceptable against American.

Obviously once the precedent is made, if this is managed with Assange, the door is open to do it also on American Journalists

Jeremy Scahill: New Indictment of Assange Is Part of a Broader War on Journalism & Whistleblowers

The below link gives credence from unlikely places that Assange is most certainly a journalist. They believe that in this the people of America are largely acting like the Adult Children of Alcoholics. They are not blaming those who did wrong. They are blaming the Messenger.

If the contents of the emails hurt Hillary then it's Hillary's in the dnc's fault she was predetermined. Bernie just didn't play along like a good boy. The best example I can give you is here we are 3 years after and there's 21 candidates for the Democratic Party. 21 vs 2. (3 technically, but i already forgot the other guy)

This is my opinion but all the other candidates decided not to run because they were told Hillary was going to win the primary.

The bottom line is I knew I wasn't going to vote for Hillary when the primary started I probably would have voted for Bernie despite the fact that he would have hurt me financially. I didn't vote for Trump because I liked him as a person even less than Hillary.

I don't need to be elected to any office to do my own thinking. I know what the facts are, and I know how criminal and ruthless the US government (and a few others) are.

In the US these days, because of the way the jury pool has been poisoned by government propaganda and sophistry over many years, a fair trial is extremely rare. The US jury pool is fairly well as corrupt as the prosecutors that form them, very corrupt.

With persons like you on the jury, a conviction is certain.

It's way closer to the truth than watching 6 minutes of any mainstream media propaganda.

If you actually think "a fair trial is very rare" here in the US...I am sure you live in a different country.

So...what country is that? And, in your estimation, are the trials any fairer in that country than here?

I said that the investigation into the charges have been reopened.

    The investigation has.

YOU do not get to decide what is rape. The legislatures of a country define it...and charge individuals they think have committed it. A jury then decides if the person is guilty.

    Wake up.

I do understand the difference between an investigation and a charge.

    You seem to be rattled.

Try getting yourself under control...and we can discuss this issue.

I do not care what you "believe."

Assange has been charged with very serious crimes...and I would love to see him get a fair trial.

You have your right to think whatever you want. However on a forum choosing to say I do not care what you believe particularly when the person was not even speaking to you is simply being childishly rude. I am sorry you have nothing better to do.

The UK has no sovereignty...whatever sovereignty they believe they had is an illusion. Assange will be made an example of, to deter others, and no he does not deserve this, to be treated far worse than Manning

    One...you were talking to me.

Two...I do not particularly care what you consider "childishly rude."

Well, your analysis is inaccurate. I was born and raised in the US, and when commissioned in the Army I took an oath to protect and defend the US Constitution.

Plus, I'm aware that the jury power is mentioned twice in that document.

I'm also aware of how a federal court decision in 1895, Sparf v. U.S 156US51 greatly changed the role of the jury, in a very bad way.

Of course there are still a few brave and informed citizens, but for the most part today's jury is merely a rubber stamp for ambitious and corrupt prosecutors.

well let me make this the last time
as you are not here to debate but simply waste time, simply to ignore forum rules and make personal attacks.

Impossible to tell at the moment which way the world will move and that is possible particularly true with both the US and UK.

Okay...so you are an American who thinks that a fair trial is an impossibility here.

    Kinda sad.

Hey...it is allowed. You can hate America all you want...and you are still welcome here.
