Facists don’t care about the people. Although appealing to the fears and prejudices of “the people” is how most of them come to power. It worked for Hitler, for PIS in Poland, and for Orban in Hungary. It worked for Trump too.

All of these governments are openly democratic, openly flaunt the rule of law in their own countries, and all of them have tried (and often succeeded) in bending the rule of law to their service. Rights are out the window.

The election suggests that European politics is once again descending into the political chaos that marked much of the 1930’s, with similar trends throughout.

We all know how that ended.

If that’s what you’re cheering for, know that your children or grand children will be sent off to the next war.

BTW, this is the Russian objective. Undermine the EU. Destroy the European Union and NATO, and instead have warring factions of governments feuding.

Promote the sort of right wing dictatorships that Moscow prefers in its former satellite states.

All these objectives were known before the Russians decided to bet on Trump. Trump has done Moscow’s bidding to the extent that his incompetence and parochial belligerence serves their purposes.

Vladimir Putin is having a good day.

    And you’re cheering for it.

And once again, Russia is the big boogie man. That's it tommy, all those patriotic people who want to keep their historical cultural identity are all racists or they are colluding with Vladimir. Libs, newsflash, some folks love their countries....even in Europe.

    Immigration is not a right.

Appeals to racism and “nationalism” where the hallmarks of every right wing movement in Europe in the 1930’s. The Nazis, the Arrow Cross, the Ustashi, and other right wing groups that emerged in Czechoslovakia, Austria, and Rumania.

I realize that you don’t know anything about history. Most Trumpster don’t seem to.

And the Russian objective in Europe has been clear for years. There is no shortage of documentation regarding Moscow’s hand in promoting these far right wing groups, or their purpose in doing so. I will be happy to bury you in evidence.

So your adolescent “once again Russia is the bogey man” taunt, is ignorant BS, and it demonstrates a lack of knowledge (or willful ignorance, which is more dangerous) of the subject.

I realize that the average Trumpster doesn’t think beyond what comes out of their AM radio, but history is repeating itself, and you’re cheering for the re emergence, after an eighty year absence, of the political dark side.

Once upon a time, conservatives jeered anyone who took Moscow’s side.

Now, you’re all parroting it right out of Putin’s mouth.

As usual, your propaganda is the complete opposite of the reality.

People in the EU are turning against their fascistic, bureaucratic masters. They are finally beginning to grow tired of having their nations destroyed by totalitarian central planners.

It will be interesting to watch our big cities as they continue to descend into the dark ages. I wonder how much typhoid fever, tuberculosis, and bubonic plague their residents will accept.

    Nonsense.

The world is a very different place now than it was in 1930s. If you can put aside your Nazi fetish for a minute, you'll realize that this has nothing to do with expansionist imperialism, and everything to do with isolationism.

No white country is looking to annex/occupy any craphole brown country and "expand the reich".

This is just sovereign nations not wanting their cultures to be obliterated by millions upon millions of foreign invaders.

Is that what was happening in the 1930's? Was Europe being overrun by foreign invaders? Is it that all over again now?

Pope very upset. But Vatican walls and fish hats are symbols of predator sexual exploitation and exclusion, so his voice is as if he does not exist.

    Several times.

And if I’m the “ignorant party” here, how come you don’t offer any sort of rebuttal?

I did. You just don't want to listen to reality. So you've been to Russia several times? I think you're lying. (I know you're lying).

I think a large part for the results in the EU is the fact that more and more people are feeling like they have no say in how the EU is governed. The people that run the EU are not elected but appointed. It also I think comes down to what is best for the country in question and not the entire continent. Prior to the EU all of the countries were independent of each other and could make choices that benefitted the individual country. With the EU they are limited on what they can do within their own country.

Indeed, as the leftist fantasy world of 'get Trump' via any means possible and 'Trump won't serve out his first term' progressively -- ha! -- falls apart for leftists some of them are sinking into emotional despair and also increasing their overt displays of hysteria by by essentially eschewing both logic and historical facts altogether. Ahem! Not that we know any of those THEORETICAL leftist types as good bad examples on this forum system. 'Cough!'

The forces that drive the parochial side of politics in many European countries have hardly changed at all.

Every thing happening in Europe right now has echoes in the politics of the 1930’s.

The growing polarization of right and left. The re emergence of obviously racist politics, in France, Hungary, Germany, Poland, and Austria (all of which had fascist governments or strong fascist movements in the 30’s.

As I said, you Trumpsters know nothing about history, and it shows regularly.

This has nothing to do with your nonsense about “white” countries expanding the Reich. That’s something you made up, and it reflects your lack of knowledge of European history.

The world is a very different place than it was in the 1930’s.

But with the re emergence of ultra right wing racism in many European countries, and the rise of parochial isolationism, and the narrow minded belligerent ignorance of much of the American right, turning the clock back seems to be on every flat earther’s agenda.

Denying the very things that Americans one took immense pride in in the years of the Marshall Plan, is disgusting, but it is what Trumpsters do.

You may be blind enough or naive enough to think that none of this really matters, and that nothing will really be different.

History proved you wrong a long time ago.

Actually, I never said that Trump would not serve out his first term. Nor have I supported getting Trump by any means possible.

The record on Trump is clear.

The only questions is how and weather we have to courage to do anything about it.

Okay then, mister history expert. Could you kindly explain to me what "Lebensraum" means?

Or is that something I made up too?

I am not interested in debating your extremely limited and uninformed construct.

Lebensraum had nothing to do with the right wing racist movements that rose in Poland, Austria, Rumania, the Czech regions of Chechoslovakia and Hungary in the early and middle 1930’s.

I realize you don’t know what I’m talking about, so you have to try and falsely recast my remarks by trying to feed them through the politics on only one country.

Whoa, check out Professor Bigbrain over here. Too intellectually superior to shout all the way down to we peons from on high in his ivory tower.
Were the right-wing nationalist movements in the European countries a massive problem?

Or was it German/Nazi expansionism that really caused the big kerfuffle?
