I have the answer for the best education. I was teaching in one of the roughest schools in New York City and it was doing terribly. The chancellor told us to create three mini schools within this building. Each floor had a different theme. There was my mini school which was the school for social action, (kids did volunteer work one afternoon) there was the Academy, and there was the business school The kids applied to the one they wanted. So now instead of 900 kids roaming the building there were 300 kids on one floor and we knew every single kid. We also had smaller classes and the kids thrived. But as you can imagine as soon as the project was a great success the funding dried up. It was so amazing and it was a public school and they actually had to kick us out at 5 o’clock because the teachers were so busy planning and talking about all the kids And their needs. I strongly believe that smaller schools and smaller classes are the answer. I can say that I’m any school was like the best private school

Without the state, private property doesn't exist. Without the ability to tax to sustain itself, the state is too weak to sustain itself.
    It is under our Constitution.

that's just your justification for theft that doesn't mean it's not theft.

    so?

it's almost uncanny how that always happens isn't it?

It almost seems like a convenient excuse especially in this case considering there were three floors in the building and I assume the same number of teachers just changed the way it was organized what kind of funding did that need?

    I

It makes me wonder. Who would know better what's good for the students to help you learn then the people teaching them. I get to talk to my partner he talks to his colleagues. And sometimes we all get together and talk.

There seems to be something stinking in the administration.

Like maybe someone doesn't like being undermined. Meaning they don't like the fact that better ideas exist.

    It's just a thought

I couldn't agree less. I know your comment was made in sincerity and its blunt and true but what is more true is somehow in just 40 years or half a generation conservatives allowed the far left to take over and manage how much? 90% of our educational system and media? Seriously. The conservative power brokers got outplayed. Now we rational ,moderate, conservatives are paying the price for that blunder. We let this happen.

Good to see your opinion is ramping up for more pure lunacy before another election. Jesus..they are kids, expressing a view and opinion. Whether agree or not it's just their opinion. Any chance we will miss your valued opinion for 6 months again of TDS after a guaranteed loss this time? I'm not kidding..the DNC and the Dem party literally talk about nothing but Trump and socialism. One retarded , barely coherent billionaire broke the minds of an entire political party. It's insane. No charismatic leader brought out to counter him...nothing. Your opinion should be printed..jesus ..fire cheerleaders! Cancel the game!

You said it is theft. If the tax is fair, it isn't.

That's a disturbing video. I can see why it led to good discussions. I had to be able to link any videos I used specifically to whatever unit we were on. One time I was doing a compare/contrast exercise and we used a five minute video clip of a scene from Moby Dick to c/c to the same scene in the novel. The goal was to discuss why the book and movie were done differently, and how that affected our understanding of the story. The reading part of it took a bit longer than the video, and my AP walked in looking for one of my students. Later, he told me that making them read a couple of pages from a chapter in a novel was too much reading. I should limit all reading to ten minutes because that's about how long the reading passages are on the test. Overall, though, videos were very much frowned upon by the administrations.

Couldn't agree more. Smaller class size (especially for troubled kids) means you establish more of a relationship with each student, have fewer distractions. For a time, I worked in an alternative school for kids who couldn't fit into the regular environment. It takes a while to acclimate, but once that happens, you can do a lot. But making progress means being flexible and creating your own system. Unfortunately, that doesn't go over well with the one-size-fits-all mentality of school administration.

The girls were not denied the right to have an opinion, however, according to state law and district guidelines that have been in place for decades, the girls were not allowed to promote a political candidate while representing the school on school grounds.

The "far left?" Who are you talking about? I worked for decades in the public school system and there's no way the "far left" took over public education.
You're a moderate conservative and you believe the "far left" has taken over education and the media? Something is amiss here.

This is no surprise. Hot, attractive girls who want a future in entertainment have an interest in radical leftists not getting into power. In a world where F1 grid girls are banned, and darts girls in England are banned and all sort of hot attractive girls are banned after successful hate campaigns by girls who are, shall we say, NOT quite so hot and attractive! :roflol: And they claim to be feminists even though they are telling women what they can and cannot do! :roflol:

It did. At least some students in most classes were aware of pimps in the local shopping mall trying to pick up girls. I indicated in my classes that my motivation in showing the film was to warn students about addictive drugs like heroin.
Too much reading? Absurd. Your AP ... a guy who realized he was a lousy teacher and went into admin because he didn't have marketable job skills outside public education?
We often recommended to teachers repeatedly harassed by admin that they consider filing a grievance.

I lucked out and had an amazing principal. She gave us so much creative freedom. One experiment was my English class. It was six graders seventh graders and eighth graders in one classroom but there were only about 18 kids. I graded them individually. Basically graded them considering their abilities. Kids who were not good readers would be able to verbalize etc. A lot of Ideas came from new teachers who were still idealistic. It was such an awesome time. Now I keynote to teachers throughout the country because I wrote a book on classroom management, never dreaming it would do so well. I am in my glory because I am a closet stand up

The admin was in a state of constant turnover. By the time you file a complaint and it's investigated, those guys were gone.

The system is tilted against people with low incomes, so it's reasonable to have progressive taxes.

By labeling progressive taxes "theft" when you ignore the economic system tilting against low-income workers, you attack in the most vile way efforts to help even the playing field for less well off Americans.

In our district, remedies to make impacted teachers whole are applied to successor managers. Removing an offending manager may be part of the solution, but only part of it.

    No it isn't.

The playing field is never even trying to make that there case with Robin Hood tactics is a fool's errand. The extremely wealthy didn't get there by paying taxes. What this does is place a huge burden on the middle class. Possibly why we see them shrinking.
