I agree. There are not victims on "both sides". She's the perpetrator, not a victim. The victims are the boys she accused, and anyone else negatively effected by her hoax.

 

Why can't they call it for what it is? This is a teaching moment for any other students who might have some strange notion it is OK to call people racist and claim they did racist things to you when in fact they have not.

 

Glad they got to the bottom of it. The apology from the family sounded heartfelt and classy.

 

We need to start punishing this behavior or we will only get more.

It was security camera evidence that unraveled her lies.

Those boys she accused better be on their knees thanking the video surveillance technology gods, because the cancel culture court of opinion always works with a staunch 'guilty until proven innocent' bias.

Even when proven innocent, there are some who still prefer opinion to fact.

When you use satire in connection with racist atrocities it is better to make your point very clear.
Those who do not know you may think you believe what you post.

 

Where did she learn that her behavior was ok. Was it was at home, from a family that some how thought they where owed something by the white? Or maybe from a narrative taught in school that the blacks and they alone built this county? Or the News media pushing that all that is bad in this country is from white men. Funny how she said 3 white boys and not 3 black girls.

 

Yes, and if she filed a false police report, there should at the very least be a 'chat' with the DA's office. Not a fan of wasting the time of local police investigating crimes that did not take place. But we really ought to figure out why she made up this story before we grab our torches and pitchforks.

She is a kid who told a lie that snowballed. The biggest consequences could come from civil courts

 

You know teenagers do things that they don't believe are ok all the time. They do things that their parents never 'taught' them to do, and schools never taught them to do, and they do them in rather unpredictable ways.

We don't know why she did it yet. Trust me, it was probably a mystery to her parents too when they heard it. For all we know this is nothing more than typical teen melodrama that took a weird twist.

 

I have no intention of picking up a pitchfork, but she needs to be accountable.
