This thread has been instructive. Historian and Author of The Soul of America, Jon Mecham wrote that America is now in a Post Literate period. Our time is one in which America has become divided loosely among those that read, research, learn, and search for truth and meaning in their lives vs. those who rely on other sources, usually on the Internet, to provide all their answers. This thread is a demonstration of that troubling development.

There is a stark difference between those posters that rely on so called "mainstream media sources" and those with complete distain of such sources. Those relying on MSM collect facts, models, charts, video records, written reports and records, and interviews of accomplished figures in government and business. Boring stuff. The other group relies on scripted snippets from sources like Facebook, Breitbart, Axios, and other right and left wing sources. Their responses are usually short, canned and predictable.

The first group demonstrated a temperament to plow through the over four hundred page Mueller Report to learn what was learned and reported. The other group has been willing to take AG Barr's word for what's in the report and depart. The result is that a lot of the second group believe Barr's assertions which are patently false. What the second group is unaware of is that the Mueller Report is a roadmap of criminal activity that leads directly to the White House, something right wing Internet sources fiercely deny even though they have never read the report.

America is on to serious business where clear heads must prevail, the impeachment and trial of a president. Republicans have argued for the release of investigation reports done by a professional transcriber. Well, here they are. That should quell some complaints but instead have bred charges of doctoring, bias, and partisan fiddling even though nearly half the committee was composed of Republicans. Reliably, none of the complainers have read page one of any transcript, much an entire transcript covering ten hours of testimony. Clearly, there is no interest in facts or truth.

We are about to enter the public airing of testimony in television and cable. The results should prove interesting.

 

And hence is the biggest difference between Liberals and Conservatives - I do not hate Democrats like you hate Republicans, I just despise some, take pity in others and make fun of the rest

Now if we can separate facts from babble, a FAIRLY conducted televised inquiry will shine the spotlight on this sham just like it did in the Kavanaugh Hearings. You remember how successful they were for the Dems?

A simple reading of the letter is all that is needed. Schiff won't dare produce his third-hand witness and he can't let him reveal his sources in the White House if they were any. The case will fall apart right off the bat.

Other witnesses will whine they didn't like the way PRESIDENT TRUMP fulfilled his office, but so what. They were not elected to conduct foreign policy--Trump was.

They will come off as unelected, disgruntled bureaucrats who didn't like being made fools of in 2016.

When the Republicans subpoena Schiff and his staff to testify about coaching their star non-whistleblower, what will Schiff do? He will have to testify about his conduct, or risk a special counsel investigation of himself.

After this fiasco goes down in flames like the Mueller appearance, what rabbit will the dems pull out next?

2020 is just around the corner.

I thought Schiff could open another Spanish Inquistion into Trump's abuse of elderly democrats in the election.

For the record, I am plowing through Yovanovitch's testimony today (page 141) with constant interruptions... It's a very sad story of a woman who was removed from an important job for the apparent reason she might get in the way of ridiculous back door political machinations....

Also, I never read Volume 1 of Mueller.. I tried, but that was hard. I did read the complete Volume 2, and I feel (as did the 1K prosecutors) that a clear OOJ case could be made on 4 of those items...

But for some, if it doesn't happen on TV, it doesn't happen.... I look forward to the hearings and whatever defense the GOP can come up with for this abuse of power...

The passage, in the call transcript, isn't as clear as I remember. Your claim could be accurate.
