According to our Constitution Article 1 Section 10 only congress has the right to impose taxes and tariffs on the export or import of goods. This begs the question why hasn't congress either voted to authorize the tariffs or overturned them and asserted their constituted authority?
These tariffs are costing U.S.consumers billions.

    Why?
because Congress for decades have shifting trade regulation powers to the Executive branch.
starting with the Trading With the Enemy Act of 1917, followed by other acts eg " the Trade Expansion Act of 1962"

Congress only has a small handful of legislative powers. "Caring about US jobs" is not among that handful.

But it is THEIR Constitutional duty to impose ALL regulations regarding the nations finances and spending. If the second amendment cannot be changed why can this???It is very clearly defined in Article 1.

Many democrats, like Bernie, have always supported tarrifs especially against China in the past. Their opposition or silence on the matter is currently more about optics than any real concern.

That's not entirely accurate. See, the Chinese devalued their dollar so much to try and hurt the U.S. that their scheme backfired on them tremendously. Big retail stores like Walmart and Target are eating those tariffs which in today's dollars really don't add up to crap. The proof is in our economy. The Markets set new highs nearly everyday and the U.S. dollar does nothing but strengthen everyday. Now on the other hand China's economy has done nothing but declined since Trump has been president. For the first time since the 80's America is starting to kick China's ass.

The problem is it's we American consumers who pay the tariffs on imports not the Chinese

Well, they would have to pass legislation to counter the legislation they passed but they are too busy with the impeachment clown show.

BTW, you appear to hope that other countries continue to screw America.

Apparently you haven't looked at how much the prices on automobiles houses and super market prices have increased since the tariffs went into effect. The AVERAGE selling prices for Fords and GM vehicles are now $37,500 and housing is through the roof as are rents forcing more and more to become homeless.

Why are you perfectly good with a Ford costing $100 grand in China? And a Dongfeng costing $50 bucks here?

Kurpy are you aware that GM has sold far more vehicles in China than they have sold here in the USA for the past ten years.
