So Bloomberg wants 'an awful lot more immigrants rather than less because they improve our culture, food, religion, dialog and economy. How so? Is an immigrant going to bring to us some sort of food or religion that we currently don't have? If we really believe we are the greatest nation on the planet, then how is inviting people who aren't at the top of things such as technology, medicine, etc going to help us? He also seemed to be careful not to make any distinction between legal immigrants and illegal aliens. I wonder why? Forget it, we all know why. He can't mention illegals one way or the other because depending on what he says about them either the left or the right will slam him. If you have the perfect recipe for some sort of food dish, then adding additional ingredients of lesser or unknown quality does not improve the dish, it's more likely the dish will be ruined or fundamentally changed from what it originally was. On a side note, whenever I mention American culture on this board I get peppered with people asking me what exactly is American culture. Now that Bloomberg has brought it up, perhaps someone on the left can tell me what he was describing when he mentioned our culture.
I'm not sure what your point is. Are you saying we already have great food, so why do we need more great food?
Well Bloomberg is full of doggy droppings, this is the same guy who apologized for his "stop, frisk and search" policy when he was mayor and now he is catering to attempting to cater to the masses to get votes Well Micheal, you live in a nice penthouse or a gated community, when was the last time you had an immigrant over? unless they are cleaning your place right? Is he that desperate to become president that he will sink this low? Why doesn't he address the MS 13 gang problems Every time I hear progressive quote" Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. " Someone needs to remind them that 1) welfare wasn't readily available like it is today 2) there was no medicaid or medicare, people or most people actually looked after their families and if not the Church and charity was available, most would work 2 or 3 jobs to put food on the plate. 3) Immigration problems consisted of Mobsters fleeing Italy, or Ireland, not many Mexicans fled to NYC or the northern part of the US, too cold for them in the winter. Yes there were poor people but most banded together, the assistance that available back then was temporary to help one get on their feet, today is part of a lifestyle
Yeah! It's not like the days when white people systematically benefited from welfare at the expense of racial minorities, and continue to receive welfare to this day. Or the days when we decided universal education was important to make sure kids can go to school! Or the days when they were scared into nationalizing because of fears there houses would be attacked by mobs.
Bloomberg is just being honest. Democrats hate America and it culture and want to import foreign nationals to help them take the country over and fundamentally transform it into a global socialist police state run by oligarchs out of Europe.
My point is we already have everything Bloomberg mentioned, so why bring in more unless they can show they're some sort of benefit to our country rather than taking from us? Immigration should be entirely, 100% merit based.
We have Indian and Chinese food. So why would we need delicious Thai noodles too? I think that's your argument. Am I wrong?
How did white people benefit from welfare at the expense of minorities? And if white people or any other people who are Americans need help, then we need to take care of them first instead of foreigners.
Do you know what the term "Red lining" refers to? And should we? Why? We don't do it now, and I have some great friends who deserve help more than any American.
except that Bloomberg wants more immigrants not less immigrants I dont find Bloomberg honest at all, he demagoguing the issues like Senator Warren , hoping to secure as many votes
