Another exhibition at the Belgian pavilion was the Congolese village that some have branded a human zoo.

The Ministry of Colonies built the Congolese exhibit, intending to demonstrate their claim to have "civilized" the "primitive Africans." Native Congolese art was rejected for display, as the Ministry claimed it was "insufficiently Congolese." Instead, nearly all of the art on display was created by Europeans in a purposefully primitive and imitative style, and the entrance of the exhibit featured a bust of King Leopold II, under whose colonial rule millions of Congolese died. The 700 Congolese chosen to be exhibited by the Ministry were educated urbanites referred to by Belgians as évolués, meaning literally "evolved," but were made to dress in "primitive" clothing, and an armed guard blocked them from communicating with white Belgians who came to observe them. The exotic nature of the exhibit was lauded by visitors and international press, and even the Belgian socialist newspaper Le Peuple praised the portrayal of Africans, saying it was "in complete agreement with historical truth." However, in mid-July the Congolese protested the condescending treatment they were receiving from spectators and demanded to be sent home, abruptly ending the exhibit and eliciting some sympathy from European newspapers.

America is a DISGRACE in the Age of Trump (when it comes to Race Relations).

 

That is because they are ignorant about American history. Every issue in America is based on the white-black relationship. It drives all issues and nothing else comes close to it. We could be being invaded by vampire werewolf zombies from the Andromeda Galaxy and some folks would still whine about their fellow black American citizens. The people in Detroit were so racist that they let the city collapse because they didn't want to live in it with black people. Chicago has been going through an ethnic cleansing program to drive blacks out of Chicago.

In WWI they let black soldiers go to Europe to help kill white people but they got pissed about the black soldiers screwing the white women in Europe so during WWII they limited the black soldiers access to Europe. In a way it was similar to how the Confederates used their black troops during the Civil War. General Electric had over 22,000 employees in 1917 and only employed 1 (one) black woman and 125 black men. The KKK wanted to impose the death penalty on any white person, man or woman, who married a black person. It was already illegal and punished by a hefty fine and prison sentence but people did it anyway, just as they had always done it for the previous 400 years.

Some people will never accept blacks as members of their team, just like some football bigwigs are resistant to draft black quarterbacks.

 

People were whining about Michelle saying that America has a long way to go regarding improving race relations. What she said was true and the reason behind the problem is that America, as a society, has always treated blacks as inferiors. The case in point is that the former First Lady is castigated for saying that the country as a whole still engages in systematic racism just as it always has. The human zoo comment was intended to give examples of how recent tracts practices still affect all of us today.

And speaking of despicable people, King Leopold II of Belgium was 100 times worse than Hitler but he is generally given a pass because he killed black people instead of white people. Hitler got his racism from Americans.

It was quite a sinister practice. People were sometimes captured and lured under false pretense, humiliated and objectified and subjected to life threatening conditions to entertain and enrich others and reinforce the myth of racial superiority.

Africans, Indians and others were advertised like freak shows in The World's Fair. Some people became extremely sick. A Congolese man who came to the U.S. under the guise of seeing the world and making money had no idea what this exciting new job really entailed and nowhere to go once he realized the horrific truth. He eventually committed suicide.

So SPLC, a far-left-wing "advocacy" group, labels Miller a "white nationalist" after getting hold of hundreds of emails between Miller and a former Breitbart editor who "believes" Miller is a white nationalist. Breitbart fired her years ago for lying. Looks like Miller is a hard-liner on advising Trump's immigration policy. These days, the left calls anyone who wants border security (allowing people to come in legally and to keep people from flowing over the border illegally) a "racist". Need more proof than accusations, smears and "beliefs" from the SPLC activist center and a dishonest previous coworker to determine whether Miller is a "white nationalist" ... or just a hard-line immigration guy.

Seriously, the left needs to stop over-using "racist" as a blanket smear. Overuse and misuse of a word weakens it and eventually renders it useless. Maybe Miller is a real wolf in The Boy Who Cried Wolf. Maybe not. Just like the story though, inaccurately screaming "Racist" so often has made a lot of folks cynical.
