The director of the office involved in developing a coronavirus vaccine says he was abruptly dismissed from his post in part because he resisted efforts to widen the availability of a coronavirus treatment pushed by President Donald Trump.

Dr. Rick Bright had led BARDA, the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority, since 2016 until Tuesday, when was reassigned to a narrower position. He also announced he will file a whistleblower complaint with the Department of Health and Human Services' inspector general.
"I believe this transfer was in response to my insistence that the government invest the billions of dollars allocated by Congress to address the Covid-19 pandemic into safe and scientifically vetted solutions, and not in drugs, vaccines and other technologies that lack scientific merit,"

    Wow.

Trump is dismissing people who aren't willing to parrot his unproven quackery.

This is really scary, and Trump's Policy (of promoting unproven quackery) is going to cost even more lives.

    Thoughts?

He was obviously referring the the quackery being promoted by Trump.

But, to your point, obviously vaccines have merit.

Which is why the USA may need to remain in quarantine for another 12-18 months.

No, I suspect he went out of his way to imply what Trump was saying was quackery.

Which sort of bordered on not being professional with his job position.

    So what?

Trump can fire whoever he wants & he does not need democratic approval.

Feel free to impeach if you think it will help.
Trump will just win again !

    Carry on

Do you really want the president to have the power to retaliate against people who blow the whistle?

This is what I'm talking about... Democrats want America locked down permanently. They say 12 to 18 months but it could be never. It's the new normal they want to manage our decline into.

Imagine all the lives an 18 month lockdown would destroy.

Not in all cases, but I would support it against Eric Ciaramella.

I would support a firing squad for Ciaramella because he was not a innocent bystander.
He was a partisan hack with a history of leaking information.

President Trump does not require your permission to do anything.

Your president can fire anyone, anytime, for any reason whatsoever.

Here is an EXAMPLE of Exactly What Trump Did.
    (Follow Closely):

    1) Event: Trump Claims That "Tic Tacs Cure Cancer"

    2) Event: Doctor Says "Trump is Wrong, Tic Tacs Don't Work"

    3) Event: The Doctor Won't Parrot Trump's Unproven Propaganda.

    4) Event: Trump Fires Doctor

^That is the Perfect Example of what Trump just did.

Some people actually agree with that?

When Public Health and Lives are at Stake? :smh:

The drug may be effective or may not be. Trump doesn't know and Dr Bright doesn't know. Both of them would do well to keep their mouths shut.

When public health and lives are at stake, you want to keep government as far away from it as possible.

    Ok. Great "Logic" there.

Trump just claimed that he never heard of Bright (and has no idea who he is).

The orange clown has a monetary interest in hydroxychloroquine too?!!

Dont we need many more details given no specifics were given ?
Indeed we do need it in order to judge this demotion .

The piece reads like anothet biased hit job so far hhence the need for lspecifics. Too mmuch fog in your OP or it might be obfuscating smoke.

Not to mention the author of the OP is a self professed trump obsessed enemy of trump so hardly objective and at all interested in truth .

I dont think you have posted a non trump post since he beat hillary .

Almost like you were getting paid to keep the anti trump propaganda coming regularly Lol

Without specifics there isnt "obviously " quackery. Lol

Trump loves to demote and fire people but much of it is justified . Not all fotfor some of it looks rather petty and personal .And some of it looks reactive instead of proactive !

I doubt trump just comes up with what you dont like by himself. Some one has his ear .

I would not vote for trump if we had an anti globalist democrat running that would fight like hell for the average working American. And didnt have signs of dementia.

And at least trump has worked to take on red china whose aspirations are contrary to our national security economically . Between disembowelling trade deals that look to be the work of big banks and mncs coupled with wage supression illegal immigration , a war was waged on average Americans and until trump we were losing that war . That someone who ran as a repub would remind us old ex dems .of the party that once helped working people is ironic. Or rather topsy turvy . Trump still has some of the pre Clinton democrat in him. Not near enough but a helluva lot more than your typical Clinton democrat.

Probably not, but I wouldn’t have heard about Eric Snowden either if he wasn’t a traitor.
