So your argument is that Trump, who made an claim of absolute authority, did so because he wanted everyone to immediately call him out on his unconstitutional bullshit out of some 135-D checkers move to back governors into the position that they already controlled?

Which, I'm guessing, is the simplest tune to play....Chopsticks... for the simple minded

Good for Trump to realize this whackadoo...er... Governor is jumping the gun...

Movie Theatres?? You gotta be kidding me...

    https://variety.com/2020/biz/news/georgia-reopen-movie-theaters-1234586750/

Although maybe Movie Theatres are essential to Georgia like Pro Wrestling is essential to Florida??

EDIT - Maybe THIS guy should be the governor... he certainly understands the business issues here, in a classic understatement...

    SNIP
At the Plaza Theatre in Atlanta, owner Chris Escobar says the governor’s order didn’t make much sense to him. “You have to have movies to show,” Escobar says. “Second, you have to have people willing to come in.”

Trump has you all so bewildered you don't know if you want to argue he has too much power, or not enough. It is hilarious :roflol:

Meanwhile, we go with a state-by-state approach, which I have supported all along.

    Win, win!

There is really no inconsistency here. Trump can encourage safer behavior - he did not for a very long time and continues to encourage reckless behavior. For that, he deserves to be criticized.

But I understand if you feel the need to credit Trump for all good things and to blame all bad things on everyone else. The need to model yourself after Trump is powerful.

Do they not understand this is essentially a pro-Trump thread?? Or as close as one can be these days....

    I suspect not...

Trump is easily manipulated, what ever he last sees on tv or who he talks to is the direction he goes, could change again tomorrow

Kemp is not forcing anyone open. I support his decision and have spoke with many business owners about his decision. The business owners are pleased they can open and are now trying to decide when. All of the ones I know are being responsible and the points you made are very valid about regions and population density.

Everyone has an opinion on this topic. Most always that opinion is reflective of that persons perspective/current situation. Those still working or getting assistance don’t feel the pain of a business owner being forced to close yet his personal and business bills continue to mount and he is earning zero. These people didn’t get assistance and want to get back to work. I support that. In this country they have that right.

    stay safe everyone.

Trump tells republicans they can open when they want, but then when they do, disagrees with them, thus if goes badly, it's all on them

Trump wants to say he wants everything open, but not take the fall if it goes south when it does

yep, that is who will really decide to open, not the Governor, not Trump, it will be the businesses and the consumers

I think some will open, we may see a round two in states with no herd immunity yet, then will back off and let the curve settle and try again... all that can be done until a vaccine

And here's an update on this story about Captain Consistency...

    SNIP
President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence repeatedly told Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp that they approved of his aggressive plan to allow businesses to reopen, just a day before Trump pulled an about-face and publicly bashed the plan, according to two administration officials.

Once again, this guy is only as stable as the last person he talks to....

It's going to be a massive joy to vote against Trump on Nov 3rd...

Ronnie, why are you so lost on this topic. Your president made it very clear why he is in favor of some states opening under guidelines and GA is not following recommendations given by health professionals. Other states are opening in a far more logical manner.
This is all very clear and straightforward unless of course, one has an ax to grind.

Then you have to wonder about the reports he was for Georgia's reopening as planned (before he wasn't)...

    See Post #64

I swear Joe Biden is going to find a Magic 8 Ball in the Resolute desk next January...

    T has made huge blunders

Most of the states should be 100 percent open except for maybe 5 big cities

Common Sense....in 2020....it doesn't compute Perotista!(Seriously, one of my favorite all-time posters on PF, and I'm glad you're still around through all the madness.). I agree that mayors/city councils and governors should take the initiative and use all of the up-to-date information to make the most informed decisions.
