Honestly, I think you've failed to understand the question, and are fixating on a narrative for simple minded folk. The President asked a question that is actually quite astute here. We know how the virus is killed. The question simply is trying to figure out a way medically that does essentially the same thing. The president isn't a doctor, or a biologist. But his question is still quite valid. How can medicine kill the virus quickly is actually the million dollar question. And getting an answer is likely the most important thing folks can do.

If you don't like the question, it seems to me that you're not really interested in the answer, or being inquisitive about what a solution might be.

 

Anyone stupid enough to think Trump suggested injecting bleach should do us all a favor and do so.

If back during the old west, a guy says to a cowboy who can't pee, that maybe the Doc can stick a tube in his wee wee and hollow it out, there'd be guffaws forever. That would still be Trump's fault for espousing a very dangerous and potentially deadly medical treatment that no medical professional has recommended.

 

Ditto, the wife and I have been going for a walk in the park on a daily basis since this began; fresh air, sunshine, the glory of nature and all that jazz; plus on my own I have dusted off my old marital arts fighting sets and have relearned a boat load of kata. That stuff you can practice at home with just a bit of floor space. When walking in the park we are seeing a large segment of thirty and forty and even fifty somethings jogging. People are going to return to work in the near future a lot healthier and more relaxed than they were before this started. Ironic, yes?

 

So... your answer is, again... nothing? Got it. Again, the question is valid. What can medical science come up with quickly to provide some hope? All "listening to medical professionals" has done, so far has been to crush the economy, over estimate the condition of health care as an industry, and frankly not get us any closer to an actual cure. So, perhaps you want to continue that, but for the health of the nation or the world, it doesn't seem to be getting you, or anyone else closer to a solution.

Imagine that during Obama's first term that we had watched him inject his own brand of medical advice
during the H1N1 pandemic.

Imagine that we had watched Obama charge his own Secret Service security details to protect him while he went on
golf trips.

Imagine we had watched Obama get into a public argument with a 16 year old girl because that girl was made Time's Person
of the Year instead of himself.

Imagine that at the end of Obama's first term, that housing prices were dropping instead of increasing - that the stock market crashed and unemployment rose to over 10%.

Imagine that people were standing in line to buy toilet paper.

Imagine all of that and how angry you would have been at Obama for all that crap.

Dude. You have to recognize the lengths to which you are stretching yourself here to defend Trump, right? Even if you give him the significant benefit of the doubt by pretending that his line of question is based on any intellectual discourse, there are exponentially better places to pursue those lines of reasoning than the daily press briefing to update the country about the pandemic.

 

I've already admitted that he was simply asking a question. He knew he was ill-informed on the subject. Don't inject disinfectant. It will kill you. It might kill the virus too . . . but you will be dead. Calling people "simple minded" just because they know doing so is a bad idea is cute. So, I understand your issue. The language was too advanced for you. Asking "can we do something like that" doesn't actually equate to actually doing it, does it? I understood that immediately. UV isn't a disinfectant. Bleach is. In addition to talking about UV, he talked about injecting disinfectants. Even if we substitute bleach with another disinfectant, it is still a stupid and suicidal idea.
