Trump brought death, suffering, and economic collapse on truly an epic scale. This isn't happening in every country around the world only in the America Trump was handed a steady economy .......... in 3 1/2 years he tanked it
Aaaaaannnnnnddddd instead of defending the fat lazy TWONK in the White House you attack those telling you the empower is naked
And the spread of the virus is Trump's fault as well. Remember how he criticized Biden and Obama for the Swine Flu response (which was excellent).
Thought my friends on here would find this headline pretty funny... I did. Trump Rally Gives Fox News Highest-Rated Non-Entertainment Telecast in Primetime for the Week From what I heard, this was the most non-entertaining television since any Tim Allen sitcom... Certainly helps that they were the only ones to carry it...
...and career politicians, the one whose jobs depend on convincing people that they will and have done a good job representing those interests, are...what? Incapable of empathizing or understanding? Just bad at it by default?
I think you are desperate if you think your best attack on Joe Biden is to try and act like he has a bad record with the black community. The reason that Biden became the nominee for the Democrats is almost solely because of the level of support that he has with Black Democratic voters.
Older generation black voters, yes. And Biden has their loyalty because he is a Democrat, and not a "dreaded" Republican. That does not mean he has a good personal record of legislating on matters of race. Anyway, that video had nothing to do with the black community vote. Maggie Habermann was pointing out the Biden is a very weak candidate "in general".
Does it make sense to you to claim that Biden got a significant majority of the black vote because he is a democrat...when they were being asked to choose between democrats? No. As for Habberman claiming that he is a weak candidate in general, that's...fine? The man is a former VP and he beat a significant field of reputable Democrats to earn the current nomination, he is one of the most liked democrats amongst Republicans and Independents, and his polling and fundraising are both currently beating his next political opponent. I understand that Habberman appears to take issue with Biden's campaign, but mostly in a manner that would force him to stop abiding by CDC guidelines regarding Covid-19. I am inclined to encourage him to ignore that bit of advice.
Yes, it makes sense. Didn't most of the candidates miraculously drop out right before the southern state primaries, leaving a choice between Biden, who has name recognition from riding Obama's coattails, Klobuchar who was a mostly unknown commodity, and Socialist Sanders?
....the other candidates dropped out after the Southern State Primaries when the black voters in those states chose Biden over other Democrats.
Certainly incapable of understanding. You think someone who wasn't in Vietnam could ever understand what it was like? That's essentially what you're arguing.
Most viable candidates dropped out after Biden won S. Carolina, his first win. By the time Super Tuesday rolled around, Warren was the only other semi-viable candidate. She would have been a better nominee. Really, anyone would be. But you gotta' run with the guy who got the most votes. Good luck.
Of course it was his fault, Italy would've been far better off had Hillary won. When the left criticizes someone for shutting down travel in an attempt to keep it from spreading, you then don't get to turn around and blame him for it spreading.
A) You did when you said, "You think someone who wasn't in Vietnam could ever understand what it was like? That's essentially what you're arguing." B) Even if I agreed with this notion that career politicians are incapable of understanding the life of an ordinary citizen (I do not, of course, because most of these career politicians have a livelihood that has depended extensively upon understanding and empathize with the lives of their constituents), i fail to see how that is a rational justification for supporting someone like donald trump whose entire life has been utterly divorced from anything remotely approaching the ordinary life of a citizen.
No, I didn't compare the two at all. It's a valid analogy. If you weren't in Vietnam, you can't understand what it was like. If you're a career politician, you don't have a clue what life is like for the people you are elected to represent. That in no way is directly comparing life as a citizen to the war in Vietnam. How you made that leap is beyond me. Trump has run businesses his entire life, just because he's done well doesn't disqualify him from anything.
It is a abject terrible analogy because you are explicitly analogizing life an American citizen to being in the Vietnam War. A career politician still lives in the same area as his constituents, he still visits the same shops, and talks to the same people. If he doesn't, then he loses that job. And yet you seem to think the divide is so far that they may as well be in a war zone on the other side of the planet. The man started by getting a small 10$ million dollar loan from his daddy. You know many ordinary citizens like that? How many do you know filed bankruptcy on half a dozen businesses and had to close another several due to fraudulent practices? I don't say that disqualifies him, but I do think he makes an absolutely horrendous example of someone who is supposedly more capable of understanding the "common man" than a person who has served in the public sector for decades.
Your entire post I quoted was nothing but name calling. Nothing about your post pertained to anything trump did or said. There was nothing for me to defend.
Hint: shutting down travel is not the only way to stop spreading. In fact, it is a very stupid way to do it.
yes I know it's not the only way. I never said it was the only way because that wasn't my point at all, which clearly you missed. My point is you can't criticize him for taking certain measures and then turn around and say he didn't do enough to stop it. I'm sure you like the rest of the left, had your head way up in the impeachment clouds when all of this was going on. And no, it's not stupid to keep people from entering the country when a disease is spreading outside the country. it's stupid to suggest otherwise. The left has no leg to stand on here. Given the lefts initial reactions, there's nothing suggesting they'd have done anything more effective to stop it. They damn sure wouldn't have done anything soon enough. But please keep spewing your talking points....gotta keep your eye on the election in November because that's what matters....screw the truth.
