Actually, it does. That money is no longer in the Military budget as mandated by congress, whose job it is to divvy up our money. Trump basically stole that money from the military and sent it south to be used by an entirely different government organization.

As addressed to you by another poster, those funds were still used for national security purposes and frankly I remember when Liberals used to rail against the bloated military budgets. What happened?

 

The border wall is not a national security issue -- 50% of illegals are visa overstays. In short, the $25 billion required to build a long wall across the border isn't even feasible, and would be a total waste of money. We continue to rail against bloated military.. I was just using the logic presented. If Biden redirects funds for the police which are used to militarize the police, to better use, you guys are calling that 'defunding the police'. Well, if that's 'defunding the police' then Trump is defunding the military, by the same logic, and no, the border wall is not a national security issue, as mentioned of above. And what happened to 'Mexico will pay for it" he shouted that every day on TV for over a year.

Guess what? Securing the border is by it's very nature, an issue of National security.

 

I honestly don't know why Trump doesn't use a remittance tax as he early suggested during the campaign. And as @FatBack said, securing the border is by it's very nature an issue of National Security. Whether it's dealing with overstays(deportation where it's possible, or remittance into the union as a naturalized citizen) or the border walls, every nation has a border there's no excuse for ours to be in a poorus state because "we welcome everyone!"

 

It would be peculiar if Tillerson actually gave us his account of this adminstration.

 

By that logic - reallocating police funds is still using those funds for domestic security so not defunding the police.

 

"Securing the border" doesn't equal 'bulding a $25 billion wall along the southern border' (BTW, though Trump has backpedaled on it a lot, that was his original goal ).

We haven't 'welcomed everyone' since the mass immigrations of the 19th century and early part of the 20th century. And, FYI, that immigration has been a net positive for this country.

There's a point where it becomes a negative, and we reached it with the heavy costs baring on our social programs and that in turn has hurt our senior citizens alot. It's time to balance out the rest of the world with our concerns and that movement will still be alive and kicking even if Trump is defeated.

Another citizen will rise to be a populist champion of the populace and lead the needed revolution away from oligarchy and moneyed interests.

 

Maybe, but that is your opinion. I'm simply stating what I think will happen. We're not going to see presidential elections in which one or both sides don't lie, distort, mislead, etc the public about what their oponent is going to do, has done, etc.

ChrisWallace lied. Biden said he would take funds away and put them to other things. Taking money away is defunding. Trump was correct
