They prove people are dying and this is a pandemic.

Interesting. Most of those "statistics" are inaccurate and the illustration is non-specific.

There are three types of lies: "Lies, damned lies, and statistics.".

Interesting. So where is your evidence?

The person who posted the illustration has the onus to support the statistics shown, as they made the assertion. Aside from the studies that illustrate that mask effectiveness is only 60-65% and the fact that effectiveness is highly dependant upon mask type, from a purely statistical standpoint the math is wrong.

It also does not take in account infection rate, which of the persons illustrated carries COVID-19, etc.

In other words, it is feel good propaganda that isn't at all accurate.

You are making a claim too, and thus, the onus is on you to provide evidence for your claim as well. Do you have that evidence?

    Your response is inaccurate.

I made no claim. I made two observations regarding the claim.

    1) that it is non-specific
    2) The math is statistically incorrect

It would be up to the person who made the claim to:

    1) Provide the specifics of the illustration
    2) Back up their math, once the specifics are provided.

Why not help a brother and come to your senses? Why not help those brothers with COPD for whom wearing a mask makes life much worse?

Why not help a brother and understand that the IFR for this virus is extremely low, and what that means?

Are you saying Obama did not do exactly the same with his own executive orders? As for "force of law," add, "subject to judicial review" --- again like Obama had to.

I do. I just think it is a waste of time. Distancing makes sense to me.

well obviously they should make exceptions for people with conditions that make it hard for them to breathe in a mask

Wow, you really nailed it. Tell me, is that tin foil I see under that cowboy hat? It's ironic that you accuse people who wear masks based on medical evidence they greatly slow the spread of corona by using unproven conspiracy theories...I mean, bravo. :applause:

There are many people who have accepted the words of our pathological liar-in-chief as truth, regarding the virus and masks. They fall in to 2 categories, dead people, and seriously deluded people. These are the same people who believe that if you buy a copper bracelet from the Shopping Channel, your arthritic pain will go away.

You mean like those who deny the science that says this infrction is far less of a problem for grade schoolers than the flu and that asymptomatic people are not significant disease vectors of covid? That science that the NEA chooses to ignore? Just because it's leadership hates Trump. There is no other reason. Certainly not one based in science.

I guess those doctors who have been wearing masks in hospitals for decades are basically wearing tinfoil hats!

Because I'm not afraid of the virus. Practically everybody I know has had it, and none of them died, the oldest being 83 just last month.

Though a blood check on 1 July showed negative antibodies, maybe I've had it too? I have a fairly robust immune system.
