I fell asleep during Night #1, but got up and watched what I "missed". Fell asleep last night during part #2, but not really feeling motivated to waste time today watching the rest. They aren't offering solutions or positions, so it's just a hate Trump fest. I guess that is the platform.
Sanders won enough delegates, before DNC screwed him again this election, to get a nomination. I guess DNC wanted to make it appear that it was a fair fight and that there was a real competition. Smoke and mirrors, another DNC shell game. At minimum, having a patsy second Sanders' nomination was a "procedural requirement" of The Party. "Democracy by the people" you know...the thing.
AOC is crying "Fake News" today. It's not like the right-wing hasn't been say they lie and mislead whenever they can.
Of course, the DNC has to be aware that most of their voters aren't actually going to Google the "DNC nominating process" to get real facts. That party depends on voters' feelings and emotions versus taking a few minutes to dig for the cold hard facts.
Fake News is only acceptable to Dems as long as the MSM smears Trump and the right wing. LOL She be mad.
Actually, that playbook goes back to the era after the Civil War. The rich opened and closed immigration to suit their interests. When labor started to organise, they would allow in a wave of immigrants that spoke a different language, and when possible, had had conflict with the people that were trying to organise. The postwar economic boom started that wave of immigration. Which was before LBJ. The 'California lifestyle' back then was largely a product of the cheap labor of immigrants. The economy was doing quite well, so it wasn't a problem. What we need is a consistent and rational immigration policy. Trump slamming the country in the opposite direction is a cure that is worse than the disease... But as long as this is used as a political football, the only thing you can be sure of is that what we do won't be rational.
1) i have no idea what shes talking about. 1a) It seems like so many things spark "outrage and vitriol " with the left these days. And they wonder why people think they are not worth associating themselves with the party.
There's several issues, maybe a dozen, maybe more. Here's an example. We have gained enormous economic benefit from having immigrants come here to go to college, and then stay. Look at American Nobel winners, a LOT of them weren't born here.
Essentially, AOC gave a 90 second speech where she officially nominated Bernie Sanders for the Parties Nomination in accordance with the typical procedure for the Democratic Convention (Bernie having gotten the 2nd most primary votes meant that he could theoretically still be the nominee). AOC was asked to make that nomination and in the speech, she did not reference Biden. NBC tweeted out that AOC gave the shortest speech where she endorsed Bernie and did not mention Biden. While all of that is technically correct, the tweet can and definitely was read as a snub of Biden or that AOC was rejecting Biden or that AOC was being snubbed by the DNC. Instead, as I mentioned, she was there to fulfill a role required by the DNC rules. Was it the best use of her talents? Probably not. But it wasn't a snub of either AOC or Biden and NBC's tweet misconstrued the situation.
Any negative news of Donald Trump is "fake news" according to those who continue to self-identify as Republicans.
I wasnt aware of the specific gripe in context, the post only had her reaction to "x" whatever x is. Not that its critical to me I guess, my comment was more about " Jesus it doesn't take much to get people riled up these days" Which usually means general twitter outrage, why we give that so much attention is beyond me. " here's what 5% of the most vocal and perpetually pissed off trolls in America think" This should be page 13 stuff.
The ABC anchor: "The reason Congresswoman Cortex has one minute tonight is Democrats don't want her speaking in prime time to the moderate United States of America. They would prefer her not to be on the stage." Time: 1:36:45
Also, she didn't officially nominate Sanders. He was automatically a nominee due to the delegates he earned in the primaries. The DNC had to have someone "second" the nomination to make it official. If they are indeed trying to continue to snub the Progressives (the way they've stomped Bernie down for two elections in a row), then they set her [AOC] up to look like she wasn't on team Joe.
Democrats are intimately aware that they have the progressive vote locked down and that Republicans are desperate to paint Biden as beholden to AOC or something. So to the effect that they kept her from a prime spot or force Republicans into the argument, as you have done, that they snubbed her/Bernie, then they are achieving their objective.
That's it. Orange Bad Bad because he interferes with transforming Free America into a Marxist crap-hole. And all the "Orange Man Bad" stuff is just self-righteous virtue signalling about how Trump isn't as wonderful as they all are, even though they have put this country through 4 tough years because they refused to accept the 2016 results. But, they'll rein in the rioters, looters and arsonists if we give into their demands for political power, what a deal, right? DNC Night 2—Lots of Trump Hate But No Solutions. “Tuesday night’s DNC affair offered another mixed bag of video guests, as the Democrats are determined to trot out every member of the backstabbing squish Republican contingent who we’ve known for four years wouldn’t be voting for President Trump. The media is presenting each one as if it’s breaking news that they don’t like the president. It’s tedious political kabuki theater and we should all thank God that the nightly coverage is COVID-shortened.”
Certainly she has Hot Girl Privilege, if she were ugly she wouldn't get away with half the crap she does.
After their 2016 political debacle, the odds were that no matter what, the DNC would be incapable of selecting a worse candidate than Hillary Clinton for the 2020 presidental contest. But now it's as if they sneered at the nation and said . . . "Hold my beer!"
LOVED Johnny K's brutal BEATDOWN of bone spurs last night... ... When this president goes overseas it isn't a goodwill mission, it's a blooper reel. He breaks up with our allies and writes love letters to dictators. American deserves a president who is looked up to, not laughed at. ... SO true...
“Bill Clinton spoke at the DNC on the day pictures of him getting a massage from one of Epstein’s trafficking victims were released. He spoke in support of Joe Biden whose own VP pick said last year that she believes accusations lodged against him by women. I would say the Dems talk about being pro-women is just lip service but Bill Clinton might get the wrong idea.”
