"The former vice president now holds his widest lead of the cycle with less than a month remaining before Election Day, according to a new nationwide CNN Poll conducted by SSRS.
Among likely voters, 57% say they back Biden and 41% Trump in the poll that was conducted entirely after the first debate and mostly after the President's coronavirus infection was made public."

In another poll just out, Biden is up 10 in Penn..

What else will Trump try now? Scary to contemplate.

Pre-Covid I expected Trump to be a shoo in. His responce (or lack thereof) and the resulting hundreds of thousands of deaths ruined that. Catching it himself killed whatever long shot chance he still had.

Biden's polls are about the same as Hillary's were four years ago. I hope Biden and the Dems have bought the fireworks and are getting them set up to go off when he wins like they did Hillary.

Overall, Trump is about 5 points down, with less than a month to go. Not an easy deficit to overcome, but not impossible either.

RCP has it at 9.0. Trump needs to win all the undecides and take some from Biden. Not gonna happen.

What WILL predictably happen is a tremendous effort to disenfranchise and invalidate voters/votes, and when he still loses despite all that, he'll cry fraud and take the election to the courts, and if that deadlocks, to the House where the Republicans have 26 delegations versus 22 for the Dems and 2 tied. The House will then elect Trump. That is, he will lose but will steal the elections. The SCOTUS with his new protégée being confirmed, will find for him.

Why do you supposed he ordered the GOP to abandon stimulus negotiations and focus on confirming Barrett before the elections? Because he knows that this is his last (or rather only) chance to remain in power.

America will be no better than a Banana Republic or Berlusconi's Italy, all with the help of the rubber-stamping sycophantic GOP. Shame.

Now, without cheating I don't think Trump can win. I think Biden will win, and will win big. The polls are MUCH more favorable to him now, than they were in 2016, and ever since, they have improved in methodology so they are more accurate now.

But I expect Trump to be ultimately declared the victor, by the SCOTUS or the House.

He can't win the election without either seniors, or women or minorities or the suburbs and he's losing in all those demographics. For once the GOP are going to be outspent in the final weeks as well. Angry white men and deplorables simply can't get this done for him. The results will trickle in over two weeks and then we will see the legal challenges throughthe end of the year, but he won't win enough of those in enough states to change the results I am 70% sure he's gone. The republicans will lose some more seats in the House, but the real drama is in the Senate. Its too close to call, but my hope/ gut says McConnell will be moving into a smaller office on Capital Hill with both Graham and Collins is moving back to their states. Its going to be very very tight in a lot of these Senate races.

Actually, Clinton never broke 50% the entire 2016 cycle. Even Rasmussen has Biden at 51%.

Being British, the Guardian doesn't have our restrictions on prediction. The Guardian has Biden ahead 264 to 214.

    So far, so good.

I asked about Penn and the 10% lead the polls said Biden had. How'd that work out?

If he gets it at all it will be by the hair on his nose, the Democrats did not do well last night, they lost Hispanic support, black women, black men their core groups, Biden is the only notable win and after all the nonsense about the "Blue Wave" it's going to be dead close.

Biden, a fairly bad candidate, received the most votes in the history of the nation.
I would say trumpliblicans were the ones that didn’t do well — but they cause the largest voter turnout in the last century.

Specious we always have more voters than before and it was a record turnout. Does not mitigate how badly was the polling and how it may have effected the outcome.

The Democrats themselves are saying this was a dumpster fire for them. See my thread.

Sad news for Democrats. GA is 100% counted, and Trump and at least one republican Senator have been reelected. Now, for other news...

A Biden who will achieve nothing with a Republican senate.

Democrats did poorly, Republicans stayed the same, trumplicans (screaming minority) are the ones that failed. Please do not confuse Republicans with trumplicans.
