He's pushing some of them off the train through not fault of their own. He is just punishing people because he feels they've been disloyal. He even threw Pence under the bus and would probably fire him if he could.

More and more will come to understand that both truth and voters are irrelevant. Only the plutocrats and kleptocrats matter. There are at the most about 100 people now who select the president and run the government - and essentially everything else. Trump was against their economic and power interests so therefore had to be destroyed. They are realizing that the plutocrats own ALL television stations, ALL newspapers and the Internet - and each could throw hundreds of millions of dollars at any politician too. Either an elected official serves them or they're gone. Every newspaper, television and across the Internet will attack them, protesters gathered up against them, and an opponent obtains they will massively finance and support. By comparison, what do you do for candidates and elected officials you support or against those you oppose? The plutocrats who own all info outlets, MSM, press, Internet and of unlimited wealth and the kleptocrats just took over the government and virtual total control of everyone and everything. It is time everyone accept the USA now is an international totalitarian corporate-fascist plutocracy in partnership with the kleptocracy. Everyone should just accept that fact, recognize each of us are completely powerless and nothing good comes from resisting. Instead, if you become a thorn under their saddle they can and will destroy you economically, socially and if in politics then politically. Give them too much trouble and you may find yourself in solitary confinement denied bond. Certainly you will be publicly trashed relentlessly not allowed any defense - as anyone who dare speak for you knows if they do they will be destroyed too. They can do anything to anyone - to you - and there is nothing you can do about it. Most members on Congress now do understand all campaigning and pleasing others is limited to pleasing a short list of the plutocrats that control all info outlets, attacking and censoring such as they do at their whims. The list of relevant people politically is maybe 50 people, 100 tops. They will pick the president and they will control Congress. That's just reality. Resistance if futile.
In the last 72 hours, we've witnessed a whole lot of ''loyal and x-loyal'' who finally had the courage and wisdom to put him down. Since election day, Trump also decapitated/denigrated numerous Republicans, Federal, State, and Local. New expression; Don't bite/tear/chew the hand that you might need one day. The attack on the Capitol was the culmination of 2 months of hyperbolic rhetoric based on the falsehood that the "election was stolen". No one would have even attended the "rally" in Washington if they sought truth instead of accepting the falsehoods of a demagogue.
Too many of them, like Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham, saw him for what he was and said as much prior to his primary win. Then they ditched integrity and lined up behind him anyway. Nothing short of a self-deprecating heart-felt apology to the country can redeem them, as far as I'm concerned. Mitt Romney seems to be the only major republican who consistently called Trump out. I disagree with a number of the man's policies, but I have to admit he knows when to do the right thing and put country over party.
The election was stolen. Democratic officials including Kamala Harris openly called for riots and harassing Republican officials. The Democratic Party called for and cheered thousands of Democrats overrunning and illegally occupying a state capital for days to stop all legislative process. That's a fair point. I have a person very similar to Trump in my family. I know her game so I can't be manipulated or bullied (which she hates). Other family members are completely fooled by her fake public persona and others know exactly what she is but are too afraid to speak up. I think the latter are the worst kind of people. They know something is wrong but choose to pretend it's not happening because they are too spineless to do anything about it. So, I completely understand your respect for Romney for doing the right thing.

After years of excuses, denials, rationalizations, false equivalences, the steadfast refusal to accept fact, and the belief in an alternate universe...........an epiphany. A moment when it became impossible to sustain the suspension of reality any longer. Finally, there has been a forced recognition of most everything we critics of Trump have been saying since Don and the underwear model he married descended upon us in grand fashion while riding an escalator. Reports that some cabinet members have discussed the 25th Amendment remedy to remove a prez who is a clear and present danger to the republic. Multiple resignations by cowards who stood by their man while he tore the country down but found an overt act of sedition a bridge too far. Congressional enablers responsible for emboldening Trump to do previously unthinkably atrocious things refusing to participate in the lies about the election any longer. It has been a collective act of betrayal to the country on the part of Repubs who no longer find it beneficial to their careers to ride the coattails of this national disgrace. The fact that it took an act of sedition to break the fever is the reason they deserve no credit for their new found contrition. Instead, they deserve scorn, accountability, and a removal from public life. Just like the traitorous menace they supported.
