Could anything be worse than Florida’s Stand Your Ground? Yes, a new, racist legislative proposal

Stand Your Ground laws again. Is the proposal really racist? I guess it may depend on what is a demonstration and what is a riot is:

The way that identity politics works, it basically comes down to this:
    1) If minorities or leftists riot, that's ok, and it was "mostly peaceful" anyway.
    2) If conservatives riot, that's "sedition", and they should be imprisoned or shot.

They can cite whatever study they like to try to prove Stand Your Ground is racist, but unless the study establishes ceteris paribus and isolates things specifically down to race, then this whole "homicides are deemed justifiable five times as often when the shooter is white and the victim Black than when the situation is reversed" claim is pointless. Without knowing what each situation involves, we don't know if maybe the black victims were more often a violent threat or not. And if we look at FBI crime stats by race, well, violent crime does skew in certain directions.

Your source is a liar. Racist laws have been banned in this Great Country for fifty years.

This law would increase sentences for violence, theft, burglary and vandalism committed at riots and unlawful assemblies. It will make it a third-degree felony to cause $200 or more in damage to a monument.

This law would protect drivers from liability if members or a riotous mob are injured or killed while lawful motorists are fleeing a violent mob. This law has nothing to do with race. Why are you claiming that it does?

It also makes it clear that the state will prosecute RICO actions against those that organize and fund violent mobs. This is good stuff. Hopefully this Gov runs for President. He looks like a good one!

You should probably apologise for and retract the false claims in your opening post.

The blacks will call it racist because a disproportionate number of the people who will be charged under this law will be black. Of course it won't be racist, because by FBI data black people commit a disproportionate percentage of crime. 13% of Americans are black- yet blacks commit 53% of all murders. The crime rates for blacks in all serious categories are double, even 4 to 5 times their percentage of society. That is behavior they choose to do, and are totally responsible for.

There are good and bad people in all races. It's not the color of the skin that makes you criminal, it's the actions you take- and race must never be an excuse for crime.

As for BLM... I think the RICO applies. These people are basically trying to extort concessions in the form of financial benefits and social advantages while shielding themselves from liability.

To be fair, racist laws were banned in your country from it's inception but that didn't prevent some being written all the same. That said, this doesn't seem to be an example of that.

Well, let them shriek. The vast majority of those charged under this law, will also be male, that does not mean that it is a male biased law.
I don't really give a damn what color they are. If they commit the crime, I want them held accountable. If they surround a car of innocents with the intention of doing them harm and they get run over as the innocents flee, I want it clear that the innocents will not be held liable if they were reasonably in fear of serious harm.
Damn Straight. And I think Black Voters are as fed up with the lawlessness, assaults and senseless destruction as everyone else.

DeSantis and the Gov of South Dakata might be the ticket for retaking the WH in 2024.

No different than the beef up domestic terrorism effort on the left, which if successful, will end up being used primarily against the left given their history of violent "protests"

Florida is Guv DeSantis. The RICO inclusion is aimed at impeaching his presumed opponent VP Harris based on video (archived out of the hands of Big Tech)/

So... hate crimes, and the extra penatly that comes with them are OK, but public disorder crimes and their extra penalties, are not?
Why do liberals hate property owners?

Private Property gives us Freedom and Liberty. The Authoritarian Left Hates every aspect our Freedom and Liberty and seek to separate us from it.

They keep adding "sub crimes" to make plea bargaining better for defense since only the wealthy can afford to fight the different versions of the same crime.

Why is it racist to defend yourself? Antifa is not BLM, they are just "Co insurgents". So if I shoot a white Antifa I'm cool, but if I shoot a black BLM'er I'm a racist?

Do I have to take DNA tests to court in case DNA percentages matter?
