Biden said there is a mass shooting every day in the United States if you count all the shootings in our cities. That's right, cities. He's now appears to be acknowledging the shootings in Detroit, Chicago, Baltimore, St Louis, New Orleans and other cities as mass shootings. So how come we never hear about those mass shootings from the MSM and the left? There's never any outrage at all. How come? Exactly what kind of shooting generates outrage from the left? Mass shootings, as described by Biden, only seem to generate outrage and national media attention when certain guidelines are met with those guidelines being political and racial.

And is a press conference with the prime minister of Japan the proper venue to air America's dirty laundry?

They ignore the countless daily black on black shootings in Chicago and Detroit. It doesn't fit their narrative...

"grrr The media never talks about Chicago, Baltimore, Detroit, etc."
"How do you know about the violence in those cities then?"
"Oh I was listening to my favorite media station the other day and they were talking about them."

Yes there are a lot of masks shooting and guess which race is doing them, if we counted 3 people instead of 4? A mass shooting for the MSM is defined as 4 or greater because that precludes much of the gang violence. And once you do that you can no longer point at the evil white people. Whoopsie.

C'mon Kranes, you're smarter than that. How often do you see the media interrupt their programming to cover shootings in Chicago, etc? How many panel discussions has CNN or MSNBC had regarding the shootings in those cities? How often do national politicians comment immediately after the shootings in those cities? It's either because they're democrat cities or they don't blame minorities for those shootings.

While I am sure race has some to do with it the main reason is because crimes like these impact poor people and not middle class or upper class families. It doesn’t sell news like a story showing a safe community having someone with a gun shoot up a random department store or business.

People will always be more concerned when it impacts — or has the potential to impact — them or their family.

Are you more concerned about someone taking a gun to your child’s school or violence in a city that you will probably never go to?

If a guy said: "I've sliced off that tee at least a thousand times". Would you consider him a liar or perhaps using an expression that is pretty common in our communicating? If trump said it some of you would consider it a common communication standard. If Biden says it you figure he just got caught in ANOTHER lie.

It isn't national news when it happens on the daily like certain other shootings. Which begs the question, why?

I'll bet far more than 5 people die in Chicago this weekend. Probably in a single event. Do you think that will make national news?

    Why?

You're probably correct about how what sells in the news, can't disagree there. Where I live cars are considered an extension of one's home and guns can be legally kept in them, and since kids take cars to school these days I'm sure there's a gun or two sitting on school grounds. It's never been a problem here.

I also think kids are pampered too much these days, far more than before. So when the real world hits them they can't handle it and go off on a spree.

I'm not sure what you're getting at. Did Biden lie when he said there is a mass shooting every day in this country, or is he finally acknowledging the shootings in democrat cities as being of the mass variety?

Quite often actually. I actually worry that they focus on it too much. There are deadlier cities than those.

Because why bother? Different news stories need to be talked about too. Sometimes you can't get the story in on time. Or you don't have the manpower to report on it. So go to the next thing. Being informed means you can understand the news just as much as you get more knowledge from watching the news.

By sheer numbers, yes — per capita is an entirely different story. Substantially different

Also those populations are condensed differently, poor whites primarily live in more rural areas while poor black do so in dense inner cities.

    What’s your point?

I finally became convinced it's less not fitting a narrative and more THEIR subtle racism at play, "No need to dwell on these shootings, it's just something those people do..."

I don't recognize all those cities, but the ones that I do recognize (which is most of them) have a large black population. Think that's a coincidence?

Not really funny. The larger the city, the more washed out the statistics become.
If you had a city of 3 and had one murder you would have a murder rate of 50% (50,000 per 100,000). Chicago, LA, NY are large enough to skew the statistics. Perhaps if we could look at the statistics by district, within the city, it would be more informative.

My point is we don’t see the grossly disproportionate levels of violent crime in the poor white communities as we do the black ones.

Domestic assault and drug use are both very big issues in rural areas. I wouldn’t say there is less violent crime but rather there are less murders and shootings.

Here let me put it another way. Regardless of what income level you use (0-15,000 or 34,000 to 450,000 or 25,000 to 67,000 or 1,000,000 - 10,000,000 or any other range) the black subset of that population will statistically commit a disproportionate level of violent crime when compared to their peers within that same income level.

Why do you think that is?

You are correct that blacks commit more violent crime per capita while whites commit more property crime per capita.

Racism (real or perceived), education, lack of stable families, lack of healthcare — the main factor is always poverty and inequality however as with each step up in income crime falls. Hispanics are another group that are over represented for similar reasons while Asians are at the end of the spectrum do to the inverse. (Except in CA as they face insane amounts of racism there in my experience)

You could absolutely point to the culture as well, Blacks are the only group in the US that has had to invent their own culture.
