Benedict Donald almost ended America, as we've known it.

There are many "predominantly" socialist countries people are migrating to.

The so called socialist countries people are "fleeing" aren't and never were "socialist". They are tyrannical autocratic dictatorships; like Donald Judas Trump wants to setup and take charge of in These United States.

 

Please provide a link.

 

Name any Socialist country, of which you are aware.

 

If you were sincere, you would declare openly what your OP is about.

But, no, you want to play the association game, which is disingenuous, but the premise of which is false.

Here is the syllogism you are offering on this forum:

People are fleeing socialist countries, proving those countries are bad.

Democrats are socialists.

Therefore, Democrats are bad.

Isn't that the point of this OP?

And before you answer the question, allow me to remind you what they call people who do not tell the truth.

No he didn't. He specifically stated he was against the 'authoritarian nature of Cuba', but praised it's literacy program.

He said it once or twice. Not 'years'.

You really need to quit being so misleading.

No one advocates authoritarianism, not on the left. But there is no politician more authoritarian on the scene than Trump, and the right loves the guy.

He fawns over dictators, said 'I love you" to KJU, and won't listen to our own intel chiefs.

I hope our constitution protects private property to the extent that socialism/Marxism could ever be judged as constitutional.

 

Oppression corruption and high crime. The exact sorts of things socialism leads to. Just look at any blue city and several radically blue states for empirical evidence.

You are inadvertantly showing the false conceit of your thread: the world's ONLY "Socialist," governments, according to wikipedia, are CHINA, CUBA, VIETNAM, & LAOS (the "Lao Peoples' Democratic Republic"). There are many different reasons, not specifically having to do with the overall concept of "socialism," why a person might flee or emigrate from one of those countries. I would think the fact that none of them have open political systems-- all are One-Party States-- and the results of this condition, underlies the majority of emigrants' motivations.

But, be that as it may, your thread does not read as a specific condemnation of either those 4 nations' economic & social systems, nor as being, centrally, against single-party government, in general. If you are trying to suggest that the U.S. Democratic Party is pushing for some sort of autocratic, single-Party political system, as wild a theory as that, on its face, appears, you are of course welcome to try and do so. But you have supplied no data or argument in pursuit of that theory.

So, what's your point, and what has it to do w/ any other than truly Socialist countries? You seem to be trying to have it both ways: claim that a government's having socialist style programs which are successful, like in Sweden, does not make it Socialist; yet where those policies have not succeeded, as in non-Socialist Venezuela, you wish to call the country Socialist.

 

This goes to show that you really don't understand what socialism is about. Hence your silly question.

I am not a Progressive, but I agree 100% -- semi-Socialist nations like Scandinavia, Germany, and France are much more humane then USA.
