I have no problem with any color. I lived in Puerto Rico for 4 years and married one of them. Then I lived in CA and was surrounded by Mexicans just like I was in El Paso and now Las Cruces. I come from Fort Lee, NJ, and grew up with Italians and Jews (I’m part Italian which means I probably have a drop or two of African blood in me) but frequently worked with the blacks, Puerto Ricans and Dominicans from NYC.

I have a dislike for elitists, people who whine about victimhood, people who view me as the bad guy for things I never did and who didn’t have family in this country when it happened, some progressives, WHO, China’s leadership, and so on. Don’t confuse dislike with a strong dislike.

 

I'm a bit confused here. You are obviously angry about the situation at the border. Why do you complain about that but not other people (outside South America) traveling and bringing Delta into the US? South Americans didn't BRING it here and they aren't being tested so we don't know how many are COVID-positive. I don't understand how that fits with the response you wrote above.

 

I once lived 1.5 miles from the border and could hear the gun shots in Juarez. I now live about 35 miles miles from the border and recall how the last horde of ‘refugees’ resulted in a huge crime wave of shoplifting and car burglaries. So between that stuff, their attitude that they’re entitled to here, the left telling me they’re entitled to be here and only racists disagree along with their cost in terms of crime, schooling, medical, courts, prisons and who knows what else, that’s why I’m against them.

as for the virus, foreigners are not allowed to come here if they test positive. Illegals who test positive get bus rides to Disney Land. As I’ve said before, if the lambda variant gets here it will most likely arrive on the back of an illegal.

Giants fan here. That is before the kneeling started and I stopped watching completely - The Giants sucking made that easier. Besides, the game was getting ridiculous, the Patriots had the refs in their back pocket and if a defensive player happened to be in the same stadium when Brady was trying to throw a pass it was a 15 years unsportsmanlike conduct flag. Until I stopped watching, I've never seen so many questionable calls go the Patriot's way.

When the pandemic started no one had any reference for how many people would die except by looking at the 1919 pandemic which was fought without modern technology and modern medicine. It made sense that the worst case scenarios would be horrifically high. The fact, and there really is no serious disagreement is that the federal government's reaction to the pandemic was inept and disastrous decisions (many political) resulted in many unnecessary deaths.

A person does not have the right to put his or her fellow countrymen and women in harm because he or she refuses to wear a mask or take a vaccine. We all know that as the virus spreads it mutates and changes. That is why getting to herd immunity is exigent. Because of the "freedum" idiots who claim a right that does not exist, we will likely end up with a version of the virus that will be immune to the current vaccines which will put us back at square one.

I am not going to get into Constitutional law, but if the government instituted a mask mandate, for example, a court would decide whether the law was "rationally related to a legitimate government interest." It is without question that the government has a legitimate interest in stopping the transmission of a pandemic, and mask wearing is clearly rationally related to that interest.

The problem is we have a party of death in the country whose members believe that the weak should be sacrificed for the economy and that their freedom to so whatever they want trumps the external harm caused by the pursuit of that freedom.
