Yes, another contrived emergency, just so the common folks can remain highly agitated and fearful. The Plandemic plays on.

An emergency? Hell, let's suspend the constitution!

Oh wait, they've already done that....

To be fair. The delta strain and now this one came from areas with little access to the vaccine. If the virus can spread easier it can mutate easier.

That said I don’t support mask or shot mandates. I do believe the vaccine works.

If every government in the world has reported it does not have any examples of the isolated virus, how do you know this newest "variant" actually exists?

They have yet to be found lying about variants. I doubt it’s a made up variant. However I do think they’ll exploit it to the furthest possible extent

How do you know they have yet to be found lying about variants? Most pathological liars, even corporate versions thereof, lie habitually.

In this day and age, corporate fraud is rewarded with more government contracts and media hype.

Although Democrats savaged Trump for not taking action against COVID fast enough, according to the latest info from the Biden regime travel into our country from all the Sub-Saharan disease-ridden shitholes won't be stopped until sometime tomorrow....

One wonders how the 'woke' spin-artists are going to handle the residual charges that we (WE) and the nasty, White European countries are guilty of "vaccination apartheid"...?

Micromanaging hospitals does not violate your rights or freedoms.

And I never stated or implied that hospitals should be micromanaged.

Cuomo committed 2nd Degree Murder (Depraved Indifference) by allowing hospitals in New York City to become overcrowded to the point that tents were set up for patients in Central Park.

Apparently, no one in the New York State government knows how to use a spreadsheet.

You open an Excel spreadsheet and enter all the hospitals in New York in one column, and then use other columns for the total number of beds, ICU beds, the number of those beds that are occupied and Percent Occupied.

Apparently, everyone in New York is stuck in the Middle Ages and doesn't know how to use technology, because any hospital could have phoned, faxed, emailed, texted or tweeted the number of beds occupied every 4, 8 or 12 hours as needed.

Excel has a Conditional Formatting feature. Pick a number, say 85%. When the occupancy rate of a hospital reaches 85% the cell turns red and the person entering data into the spreadsheet would text the medium-lift unit tasked for support to medivac those patients from over-crowded hospitals to any of the literally 100s of hospitals in upstate New York who had occupancy rates of 5%-15%.

Medium-lift means Chinook or Black Hawk. Excepting rehab hospitals, all 5,000+ hospitals in the US have a reinforced roof capable of handling a Chinook, Russian-made Mi-8 HIP, Black Hawk, Huey, or Kiowa, or a dedicated helipad within 50-70 meters of the ER.

The 42nd Combat Aviation Brigade of the New York National Guard has 3 medium-lift battalions each with 4 medium-lift companies.

All you need is one company on alert and one on stand-by.

That is not micromanaging. That is making effective efficient use of the resources that are available and it does not in any way infringe on your rights.

I will grant you not every State has a combat aviation brigade at their disposal, but many have combat aviation battalions or companies and every single State has a National Guard medical company with a medivac platoon organic to the unit.

Any governor who allowed even one hospital to become over-crowded should be impeached for malfeasance, and once removed from office, no longer has qualified immunity and should be prosecuted for murder. They can plea to negligent homicide.

I assume the delay is so people already overseas have time to return before the ban takes effect.

Well people traveling overseas generally cannot afford to stay in a hotel forever. The netherlands tested people on flights from South Africa and quarantined the ones who tested positive.

Ahm, South Africa is no "third-world shithole". South Africa is a modern 1st world nation.

Early anecdotal reports say that the symptoms of this variant are relatively mild such as headaches, fatigue and rapid pulse rate and that is even with the unvaccinated, and is very contagious. If that is so I would open up completely and even encourage the spread. Immunity to this variant would help recovery from future variants and would provide some protection against current variants

The USG can afford to keep every American in sub-Saharan Africa in a deluxe hotel for a very long time - like forever.

"PAYING FOR A WAR ON CREDIT, NOT IN CASH: ...
Estimated amount of direct Afghanistan and Iraq war costs that the United States has debt-financed as of 2020: $2 trillion.
Estimated interest payments on that $2 trillion so far (based on a higher-end estimate of interest rates): $925 billion.
Estimated interest costs by 2030: $2 trillion.
Estimated interest costs by 2050: $6.5 trillion.
THE WARS END. THE COSTS DON'T:
Amount Bilmes estimates the United States has committed to pay in health care, disability, burial and other costs for roughly 4 million Afghanistan and Iraq veterans: $1.6 to $1.8 trillion.
Period those costs will peak: after 2048.”
ABC NEWS, The cost of the Afghanistan war, in lives and dollars, The nearly 20-year American combat mission in Afghanistan was the United States’ longest war, By ELLEN KNICKMEYER, Associated Press, July 12, 2021.

The large metro areas of South Africa are indeed modern and '1st world'. The vast majority of the rest of primative, tribal Sub-Saharan Africa, however, is the epitome of "shithole"....

I've been wondering if what you say is a viable strategy. Dropping all masks, distancing, etc., if we get a mild variant, to produce better immunity to a future stronger one, God forbid.

I will continue to try and convince my fellow citizens that we have been sold down the river over Covid, by our politicians, media, and big tech

Might have to disagree there Stat. I'll leave debates over 'shithole' to others, but it is not a 'modern 1st world nation'. One of my closest friends lived there on and off for years until relatively recently. He loved the place & would have moved there if it were practical. Even he would agree it is a third world nation. Infrastructure is poor and in decline. There are large areas of genuine 3rd world poverty & access to basics like electricity, water, quality health & education is limited for a larger share of the population than is the case in 1st world nations.

Like quiet a few areas in the US, no rural water, no sewer, no power, no cell phone connections, dirt and gravel roads, with limited education and no quality health services and so on and so on.

Maybe a handful of areas with a handful of people in them. The same is true in my nation. Still not remotely comparable to Sth Africa.
