Republicans have no idea what it means to live in a dictatorship. But this undermining of our democracy, combined with scruple-less "leaders" like Trump, could very well take us there some day.

In many countries people have died protecting democracy. People have died here doing that. Democracy is always under attack in many countries. Now we are one of them. And EVERYTHING needs to be done to protect it.

 

We will learn to live with it under democrat rule.

Democrats made elections less secure and fixing that is called an attack on democracy. Kind of like trusting the fox in the hen house.

 

Trumpery accelerated the normalization of all sorts of behavior heretofore thought of as abhorrent. One of the more disgusting ones being the POTUS getting accused of lying during the SOTU address. Then there was Steve King's overt racism. Now QAnon nuts, deniers of 9/11 have infested Congress. Idiots demanding to bring guns in to the House chamber while resisting wearing a mask during a pandemic. Repub attacks on the confidence in election integrity, gerrymandering, voter suppression laws, these things are tremendously threatening to democracy and must be stopped.

 

This is so absurdly ridiculous. The democrats removed multiples of protections of integrity in our voting system from not allowing voter id all the way to removing signature verification and attempting to allow foreigners to vote in our elections.

And you have the audacity to say that the republicans are the problem for trying to fix that? You have to be a parody. You can’t be an actual person who believes that bullshit you posted.

 

THAT is what I call ridiculous. Voter ID or no voter ID is NOT going to change the results of an election either way. There are faaaar greater threats to our democracy right now. Gerrymandering, intimidating and attacking election officials, The Big Lie, ... those are REAL threats that could, in the future, actually alter the results. Not "voter ID" ... or not. That could mean four of five hundred votes either way nation wide, but it's not going to change the results. Even if they were ALL cast for the same candidate (which they never are) A coup like the one Trump attempted might not fail in the future. That is the real threat.

 

Look, I get it, you've swallowed voter fraud conspiracy theories hook line and sinker. Making you unworthy of being taken seriously.

How am I supposed to provide evidence when the ONLY way to get evidence is by verifying that we have enough matching signatures on envelopes to account for how many mail in ballots we have which you all won’t let us do?
