I’ll remember Reid for two things. 1. Lying about Mitt Romney not paying taxes and then bragging about it after the election. 2. His vocal opposition to “nuclear suppositories”.
Other than being an American citizen, there’s nothing good that I remember about him. The best thing I can say about him is he liked his cowboy poetry festivals, whatever the hell they are and loses fights on New Years Eve with exercise equipment. wait…..I do believe he sided with Bill Clinton when Clinton called illegal aliens a scourge on the country only to back pedal years later.
Reid is why the GOP got so many great federal judges confirmed by the senate. A partial nuclear option on the filibuster that backfired on democrats within one year of his actions on the issue.
I wish for no ones death... but our country will be better off without him. Term limits are a must, and he is exactly the reason why..
The sad thing is that he started out as a reasonable moderate centrist and then as he moved up in the democrat hierarchy he moved way to the left
Here come the self-proclaimed good Christians again, outing themselves..... RIP Harry Reid, and John Madden.
Unfortunately, more Dems are going to be forced to do unethical things in order to play catch-up with Repubs.......who are in the process of orchestrating a subversion of democracy at every turn. http://www.politicalforum.com/index.php?threads/how-alarmed-should-we-be.593125/
The Nancy and Harry show is almost kaput... Let us hope no future reruns of it are allowed. Fare thee well Harry. Rest in the knowledge that your evil will be undone.
If not for Manchin, who is keeping election reforms and the end of gerrymandering from passing, the POT would be kaput. Meaning the former GOP will be able to ensure the potential for minority rule a little longer.
Whatever are you yammering about? You'd have federal guaranteed election fraud if you got your way. And who is this majority that you're suddenly concerned about? You only ever advocate for the smallest margin of the top 1%ers here. It seems laughable that suddenly you're a populist...
Of course, the opposite is true. As it is, we have guaranteed election theft by way of gerrymandering and voter suppression laws thanks to the POT.
Sad but true, and he can rest happy in the knowledge that his fellow Alinskyites are keeping his vile legacy alive.
Your claim is ridiculous. And of course the worst offenders of gerrymandering are democrats. But ignore that to advocate for federal ballot harvesting which demonstrably is directly linked to fraudulent votes. See, any district in CA, GA, PA, WI, MI NV, I mean there's an F'in list. But sure, you're worried about the non issue of gerrymandering that you're most likely more protective of if it were a privilege given to just democrats.
He was born Jewish, but converted to Mormon later, which probably explains his earlier anti-abortion, pro-gun, and anti-gay marriage, anti-immigration etc views. I count at least 4 threads about this
What a sense of humor you have. It’s the foundational concept of US democracy: voters choose the politicians they want to represent them. Yet the reality in 2021 is much more depressing. As politicians undertake the once-a-decade process of redrawing political districts across the country, they are essentially rigging the system by deciding among themselves exactly which voters in which areas they want to represent. It’s a process called gerrymandering that allows them to virtually choose their voters and guarantee their re-election. The United States stands almost alone in allowing partisan politicians to draw political districts in this way. It’s an invisible scalpel that profoundly affects US politics but also the tenor and character of the national discourse. Republicans have control of the process in many states this year. And so far, they’re maximizing their advantage wherever they can. The new lines will likely help Republicans retake control of the US House next year. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news...edistricting-map-republicans-democrats-visual Ballot harvesting has become a Repub euphemism for voter fraud despite a lack of evidence. In reality the term is more closely associated with counting votes that have been cast. Something Repubs hate. The really humorous thing (or it would be if it wasn't so tragic) is how you folks are doing the things you accused Dems of doing. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/north-carolina-gop-leaders-horrified-by-election-fraud-allegations/
Last week, while the political world was transfixed on Virginia, something arguably more consequential took place in the state just south of it: North Carolina’s Republican-controlled statehouse passed new political maps based on the 2020 census that give the GOP a significant leg up in congressional elections. In a state split nearly evenly between Republicans and Democrats — Trump won it in 2020 with 49.9 percent of the vote — the new map of districts for House elections would likely give the GOP at least 10 House seats out of 14 (71 percent). North Carolina law does not allow Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper to veto the maps, which means they will be used in 2022 unless courts intervene. https://www.vox.com/policy-and-poli...rolina-redistricting-gerrymandering-2021-2022
Democrats will b*tch and moan about gerrymandering, but they never complain about the practiice when they do it.
Looks like a lot of crying. Explain how gerrymandering in CA, or NY, or other blue states works again? When you look at your own reflection, I get that all you see is the horror of your own making.
Interesting that democrats never objected to and gleefully engaged in gerrymandering themselves from the1930 - 2000 censuses. It was only when the GOP won control of the process in 2010 and kept it in 2020 that it suddenly became a “fairness” issue for democrat hypocrites.
Yup. He was proud of his lying slander of a fellow Mormon. I wish that I could say something positive about him, but, he has the reputation that he earned.
CA, just as a number of blue states do, has an independent redistricting commission designed to impartially draw district maps.
